time travel, big sprites, map battles, yasunori mitsuda

what chrono trigger actually is:

I've often complained about my job, but this time I'm being much more literal when I say that it has really stunk lately. Going into work stinks, working late stinks, everything I do every day stinks and my poor nose can't handle it anymore.

"why do you have to post and repost messages about the BDS boycott every time there's a new game announcement or set of trailers"

because there's this weird phenomenon of active forgetting that Microsoft is a tech partner of one of the most heinous crimes against humanity happening on earth today

Setting aside the annoying jokes my associates made about not being prepared for their response (I was), it was a lot more effusive than I expected when I finally opened my workshop and buylist in FF14. More than I expected, but not more than I was prepared for.

I really enjoyed watching Dandadan. It handles t's topics super well, deals smartly with the often-fluctuation gravity of the show's situations, and has some incredibly character depictions in a very cute love story, but there's a surprising amount of sexual peril.

The current structure of the world, with all its fucked-up power dynamics and all the ways it serves abusers and denies justice to victims, is not inevitable.

It doesn’t have to be this way. We can change it.

My favorite is "Not The End Of The World (Even As We Know It)" by Faded Paper Figures. "Hand Me My Shovel, I'm Going In" by Will Wood And The Tapeworms was a close second and "Urine Speaks Louder Than Words" by Wingnut Dishwashers Union gets an honorable mention for being my first too-short choice.
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

Get yourself a commission! I'm currently saving my money for a bigger one (also from Shannon), but I've bought several in the past and have zero regrets! Every bit of artwork or merchandise I've bought has been absolutely perfect and now YOU can have some delightful art at an incredibly bargain!

A once-but-no-longer anticipated book release came and went without my participation--not from a lack of ability but a lack of desire. Turns out that escaping into power fantasies really isn't for me these days. The cognitive dissonance is too great.

I stopped doing a lot of things in my week-to-week life in order to try to assess how I'm spending my time and how I WANT to be spending my time, but I wound up just taking on more work and suddenly don't have much time anymore. I might have a problem.

Rather than engage is any kind of balanced play in Final Fantasy 14, I've spent a year wildly vacillating from one extreme focus to another. Now, as I start to wrap things up and settle in for a moderately busy year, I am fighting to maintain a good variety of play.

It's nice that I'm no longer freezing during the short walk from my car into work, but it's still very cold and my does not like starting up when I finally leave work in the evening. Still too cold for it to snow, unfortunately.

After most of a year off from watching new shows, I've finally started to work my way through my to-watch list and I started that with the weird-but-fun anime, Dorohedoro, as recommended by one of my friends at work. I really enjoyed it, but it's still VERY weird.

Please unfollow the altnps account. It's a do-nothing, disinfo slop mill that's trying to figure out how to Q-Anon the left for future profit, and that is not news.
AltNPS posted about Alex Pretti's murder 25 times since this morning. During that time, they spread misinformation about the shooting, lied about knowing the shooter's name, and generally flooded the zone with shit.

They're trying to milk this story for all it's worth.

I'm really glad people are coming around. I'm also still mad about how many people told me I was overreacting when I started predicting this shit years ago. Better late then never, sure, but I don't need to be happy about it.

There are very few things I can do about the problems in my life that will give me some kind of feeling of progress or positive change, so I'm going to try to fill my need for that by changing the name I go by, something I've quietly been working on for over a year.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.
