Good to see enforcement action from the Council to keep Edinburgh's pavements clear.
Yesterday we seized stock from three businesses on Princes Street which were obstructing the footway. This confiscation came after repeated warnings.

We'll continue to enforce the rules and make sure our footways are clear and accessible for all.

How are you finding the Edinburgh Voi bike hire scheme ? Do you use it ? When you are a pedestrian are poorly parked bikes making it difficult for you to walk on pavements etc ?
Please share your thoughts, and photos, in the comments below or you can email us at:[email protected]

Shocking litter in Seafield, along the whole of Marine Esplanade, which is supposed to be a walking route from Portobello Beach... how long before this all ends up in the sea? @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social

On today's World Day of Remembrance for Road Victims it is worth noting that in the two years since Wales implemented a national default 20mph (32km/h) there have been 25% fewer casualties on such roads with over 1,000 fewer people killed or injured. youtu.be/efr3uVKpOwY

How Helsinki reduced traffic deaths in the last 12 months to...zero. We could learn a thing or two -- including income-based speeding penalties! www.not-ship.com/huh-apparent...
Huh. Apparently cars don't have to kill people.
For a fast way to reduce traffic deaths: Just slow down.

In few other northern European cities would vehicles be allowed to mix unrestricted with so many intoxicated pedestrians on a street with really poor pavements.

If this was a rockfall on Arthur’s Seat or a toppled chimney, would the street have had some mitigations by now? 😔

If you live, work, visit or travel through the Barnton area of Edinburgh then you may want to look at the 'active travel' scheme proposed by the Council.

Public transport rarely stops outside your home or final destination. The first and last mile walking or cycling is so much more pleasant, quieter and safer with a default urban/village 20mph limit.
#20splenty for less noise, cheaper insurance premiums and 25% fewer people killed or injured.

Would you care to comment @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social ??
- Residents incredulous that again the hedge completely blocking a Redhall Grove school pavement has still not been cut back by @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social . Shameful the amount of time and resource our community & @rosssmckenzie.bsky.social have spent chasing! Just get it cut already. 🤬🤬/5
