Something deeply satisfying about this. The operators got some skills too. @thewaroncars.bsky.social

it's dope as hell that the world builds 100 million cars per year and all that plastic, metal, glass and rubber eventually ends up like this

I’m wearing shorts, it’s October, it’s Scotland. This is very far from normal

Come on Karl, you should know by now, it’s never been the driver’s fault/choice/responsibility

@bsky.app it is really annoying that once i choose to play ONE video the app then auto plays every single other video until I close it.

I have autoplay set to off

The national misunderstanding of the words ‘public service’, especially amongst those in public office, is quite astonishing

Or even a count of drivers running red lights on ones without cameras

I wonder how many younger tradespeople are within the law?

How many of them don’t realise?

But then of course, we would need to see enforcement, something sorely lacking in all aspects of vehicles and licenses and the use thereof

Government snuck in a change to licences at one point to cope with new electric vehicles, although the cars just kept getting bigger and so that limit is now being tested. It is about time the Government took a stand against the car manufacturers (won’t happen)

Major new driving licence rules introduced for electric cars
An updated weight restriction for category B driving licences has been introduced by the Government on 10 June.

Talking of car bloat…

It’s worth remembering this is the limit in weight, which includes passengers and luggage btw, for UK license holder who qualified in or after 1997

Some UK drivers may already be braking the law

www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/a...
Very weight’s maximum for UK car licence issued after 1 January 1997; petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles is 3500kg and for all zero emission electric vehicles its 4250kg

I drive an original leaf. I don’t see any requirement for a more powerful motor, it goes quite well enough even in Eco mode. Range, yes that can be an issue for long journeys but these don’t really happen for most people often, and tbh, in that case i get a train

In case anyone is wondering, it's not a three peg day but a four peg day in Fife. I have retrieved my bedding from the wrong end of the garden twice already.

@cyclinguk.bsky.social magazine letters, a woman is asking for advice re saddle sores, the Dr replies with absolutely NO mention of ensuring that the saddle is wide enough to support the sit bones rather than the squishy bits. Discomfort is not necessary or something to get used to, its fixable.

Or if you’re a disabled 5ft 2” cyclist with any bike

This is why you shouldn’t charge anything overnight or out of sight

When you start to wonder if you "are" smelling a burning smell or are imagining it, then find this.... 😱
Small basic powerbank that has short-circuited (possibly it was the cable caused it) and begun to smoulder and stink...

What i said was they need to raise their own profile in the same way. They don’t need to emulate Zack, they should be themselves, but they do need to get more media attention and build a similar momentum
blythegoescycling.bsky.social
Yes this is a common problem. With many trains only taking two bicycles they go very quickly. In Scotland, you don’t always need to book and it’s first come first served. The problem with this is families being split over two or more trains, often hours apart, with instances of different days even
blythegoescycling.bsky.social
I know. My point is exactly that. The momentum he is generating needs to be mirrored by the Scottish Greens.

Yesterday I drove to the station, left my car taking a space for 14hours, did my return intercity train, drove home.

Until yesterday, and as a direct consequence of BTPs announcement, I would have cycled.

One more car on the road, one less parking space. Multiply this out across the UK, daily

Lets be honest, taking a bicycle on a train is an absolute pain in the arse, even folding ones. It’s difficult to get them on and off, the storage is extremely poor, and buying tickets is way too complicated.

It didn’t need to be this way, that used to put them in a guards van. Wide doors, simple
