After being down for a week of repairs and maintenance, the Redline immediately rolled over and died this morning! Multiple disabled trains, a 30 minute + delay, and I arrive to the office at the same time I did last week when they were using shuttle buses. Awesome.

Blue Beetle was a fun movie that felt like it tried to do way too much, with a lot of the stuff it was trying to be feeling like it was loosely nailed on rather than part of a coherent whole from the beginning. I have no idea how much sense that makes. It just felt... confused?

Crunchyroll really was a great fan created site and now they intentionally don't hire people who might relate to the fans. It feels like the current ethos is "let's create the worst possible product that people will still begrudgingly pay for"

It's extremely depressing that anime went from a more obscure medium to front and center mainstream during my lifetime, but this translated to the medium transitioning from "for fans by fans" to pure exploitative capitalism with us as the captive audience
