So FIFA gave Trump a peace prize and to celebrate, Trump ...*checks notes*... Decided that America is now a pirate country and stole an oil tanker from Venezuela. Makes sense...

The only person to come out of the SPeggie/NHS tribunal vindicated and with a completely untarnished reputation is Dr Beth Upton.

Not SPeggie,
Not the NHS management,
Not Four Women Scotland,
Not the media,

Just Dr Upton.

For some reason, the fact that X-Factor contestant Leona Lewis once released a cover of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails just popped into my head.

And now I feel a deep sense of meh...

I do think Starmer thinking things were basically fine before does explain a lot tbh
Keir Starmer - "I’ve always wanted a Labour government but I’ve never worried about the future of our country under a Tory government."

The words of a man so insulated from the harm done by the Tories he felt no compulsion not to continue the harm not being done to him and his.

By this metric, some harmless sod working in a warehouse is less welcome than some button-eyed grasping opportunist 'entrepreneur' who sets up a fake business to sell millions of quid's worth of shonky PPI to the NHS during a pandemic.

People aren't just defined by what they can do for you.

when a poor person uses food stamps for a steak or homeless person spends $5 on a beer, it’s seen as proof that all poor people are so bad with money that they shouldn’t be given any, ever, for any reason. $77 billion out the window, and zuck’s legacy as a safe government contract bet is secure.
Mark Zuckerberg’s gamble on the "Metaverse" has lost his company more than $77 billion.

There's a character in Horizon Forbidden West called The Ceo. He looks weirdly like Wes Streeting, but with less of an uncanny valley feel behind the eyes.

NB: when he says "my view was divisive" he means "I got called out because my view is objectively wrong & wildly harmful to vulnerable people"

When he says "better evidence" he means "evidence that suits my prejudices". We already have good recent evidence from a major NHS review, which he ignores
Oops. Someone realising they said something rather unpopular is now desperately trying to change what they actually said

So the new Kreator Single is a bit good. Proper nice chorus (reminds me of 200's era Rage) good melodies and hella crushing.

An independent taskforce *just* did a huge review of ADHD in England, and the conclusion was that it's "under-recognised, under-diagnosed and under-treated."

So in the ever shifting "don't solve problems, create new scapegoats" governmental style, Labour are expanding state sanctioned vilification to include people with ADHD. They're join refugees, trans people and the disabled.

Hey Wes, I can save you the trouble. The reason a lot of people are struggling with their mental health in the UK is it fucking sucks here. Aside from usual late-stage capitalism stuff, everything that could be cool about living here has been systematically made worse by people like you, you cunt.

This company is offering eugenics as a service, which is impressively dystopian.

Their website shows off how they'll rate all your embryos for autism so you can pick which one to turn into a baby, as well as the more boring parts like hair and eye colour.
If I saw these ads in the opening level of a sci fi game about eugenics I'd be like "ehhhh maybe too on the nose"

you gotta remember that from a conservative perspective, these programs are a failure. they don't want to reduce homelessness, they want to punish homeless people. they'd pay 10x as much for that happily
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

Just over a year ago, labour were suspending MPs who voted to scrap the 2 child benefit cap, but now they see there's mileage in getting rid, the cap is suddenly a terrible holdover from the last govt. Their moral compass is a weather vane.
