After 10+ years @ AAAs and publishers, I started my own studio to make games that ask "What if the future is just like today?"

When we started making these games in 2023, the stories we wrote and the situations we created were fantastical, coming from deep in the pocket of all the great #cyberpunk fiction I've read over 30+ years.

These games were a #loveletter to a wild, *fictional* future filled with megacorps and crime.
The #demos for Null State, Another Round, and One Last Job are available to play NOW on #STEAM

Set in a near-future #cyberpunk #dystopia with crumbling governments and extraterritorial megacorps, it's like today just with powerful AI…

…there IS? But it's the GOOD kind, right??
A couple years ago, I had a few conversations with the very talented writer/actor/comedian Tarik Davis about a character he developed based on the true story of a black detective working in 1930s LA.

Wow! He's taken that character and kept running with it all the way to a film:

If you're interested in LLM/AI tech/mind stuff and you've not seen what Tim has made with Strix (starting here: timkellogg.me/blog/2025/12...), I recommend giving this article (and the two Strix wrote for itself) a read.

True in every industry; probably just a human truth. Well-said!
Advice I now give to grad students and postdocs in the sciences: Don’t just try to meet and impress senior scientists. They’ll retire soon. Get to know your fellow students - make friends where possible, be colleagues at least. These are the people you’ll be sharing the field with for decades.

This is the kind of idea that starts off with a laugh, then the more I think about it... the more I think this could really work well if given the right visuals & narrative polish.

Cozy vibes, warm colors, friendly bugs with odd jobs to do around town (a grasshopper who lost his hat while jumping?)
new game idea: you can drive around a city and countryside and explore, but its a bug city, and youre a pill bug

In case you've seen an inexplicable spike in streaming from France/Switzerland recently, @weakenedfriends.bsky.social , it's because my toddler is absolutely enamored with your song Lightspeed. She says it's noise she likes to hear. I like it, too!

This is true in many countries -- as a father to a toddler, our local library is in-dis-pen-sa-ble.

“As prices for streaming subscriptions continue to soar and finding movies to watch, new and old, is becoming harder as the number of streaming services continues to grow, people are turning to the unexpected last stronghold of physical media: the public library.”

Folks ask me "Aren't you sad that artists play a cursed lottery in a world that is directly hostile to the value of creativity or innovation?"

I'm way past mad. The rules of the game were made clear as a kid. I deserve nothing. Any time we get to produce anything, it is an unexpected miracle.

Attention Indie Devs!

I just need 15 seconds ... of your game footage! A lot of people jumped on the 15s video trend, so I thought it would be cool to make a compilation to help indies get some visibility.

The anti-spam key is "kook".

This advice turns each alt-text into a fun creative writing exercise!
ALT Text benefits everyone

Alt text helps with accessibility, identifying/explaining elements you might not get to in your posts and makes your posts/work more discoverable - Make sure to toggle it on to “require alt text” in your settings

Make sure yall are drawing your triceratops with swole necks, folks! Anatomy is important!
Well-preserved Triceratops skulls have a sharp falloff on the rear frill from a vascular texture to "scooped out" cavities. It is likely these cavities were filled out by neck musculature. Many reconstructions overlook them, ending up with necks that are prorbably far too skinny.

There's something really interesting in the design of this game; it reminds me some of this game I played with my dad as a kid where you were a pirate and had to sail between ports to deliver goods. Give it a look if that sounds appealing!

I switched from following around a dozen creators on YouTube, instead following them on nebula. It's one of two streaming platforms i will intentionally pay for. I recommend it!
Three-day free trials now available. Clear your weekend.

I've had a chance to play this demo and I LOVE IT. Flavorful deckbuilder with low-and-slow combos + a spicy sense of humor. Bon appetit!
The Arcane Eats demo is available RIGHT NOW, fresh out of the oven and piping hot! 🔥

Serving crisp & crunchy card play, tossed in roguelike spices, with a heaping side of culinary humor - enough to whet the appetite for the feast to come!

Take a bite & wishlist:

Each year website DailyPortalZ holds a contest where people dress up as something super duper ordinary.

Here's a thread of some of my favorites from the 2025 contest!
