There is much to say on this, but the very first point that must be made as a matter of urgency to the NEC is that excluding trans women is not a "compromise position", it is a segregation position, a biased position, a transphobic position and a morally repugnant position.

I mean, I'm old enough to remember 2 years ago when starmer alleged he'd effectively abolish the HoL but that sweet sweet lobby money must weigh more than Starmer's ever unravelling morals.
Yesterday @pippacrerar.bsky.social reported in @theguardian.com that Keir Starmer is about to appoint another set of peers, including 25 Labour.

Later Aubrey Allegretti in @thetimes.com suggested there would be 33 new peers in total.

still baffled by the media feigning shock at this.

the man is a racist adult. it’s of no surprise to anyone that he was a racist teen.

this is more about the media determining what is, and isn’t, acceptable language in rhetoric.

adult farage speaks in their racist code, teenage farage did not.

imagine, right, you're applying for a UK visa. our wages suck, bills are high, layoffs are ten a penny, & you find out you're down up to £20k minimum right from the off, alongside thousands and thousands in visa fees. who would find that remotely appealing? this is how you collapse entire industries
a family of four on a five year visa route needs to pay close to twenty grand in surcharges, in addition to visa fees, upfront at time of application. the new Labour ILR rules means that family will pay close to *forty grand* in health surcharges, on top of visa fees. just incredibly stupid stuff

This response shows the best way we (migrants, employers, union reps, partners) can make our voices heard is via the consultation.

This record-breaking donation shows how dependent our parties have become on a super-rich few. It reinforces the belief that money talks loudest in the corridors of power.

The Government promised to protect democracy. It's time to introduce a cap on political donations.

The Cass Review is the worst kind of pseudoscience & has at least 13 peer-reviewed critiques of it (all ignored by mainstream media).

Streeting now wants a Cass Review for Autism, ADHD, etc.

I have characterised these as “contrived authority” strategies (referring to the work of Max Weber)

Considering Streeting's well stated belief autism, ADHD etc, along with mental health issues, are "overdiagnosed", I won't hold my breath for this doing anything other than being used to cut support, along with opportunities for diagnosis, for people who need it. #r4today
