I don't care what you've heard elsewhere. You can ask any competent attorney and they will tell you: Subpoenas are neither optional nor on the honor system.
You can't just refuse to comply with a GJ subpoena. That's called contempt. You can file a motion to quash, but traditionally that's on the user not the platform to do.
Note that platforms are generally not REQUIRED to notify you either.

If your rights are on paper only, with no path for vindication and assertion when they are violated, then you have no rights and we as a culture lurch closer to massive violence.
