Heyo, I'm Lyarrah!
I'm a queer variety streamer with a focus on Geoguessr, Minecraft, and thinky games.
I've been streaming every night in 2024 (over 300 days now!) so I hope you'll come catch me on Twitch!

making the frog an icon and ascribing power to it makes it less potent.

it was a meaningless costume, just some cheap random bullshit, and it's more powerful than they are. the frog doesn't need to be a symbol. let alone something people are scrambling to purchase from Amazon so they can own one

I genuinely don't know how *this* isn't the top story in the country. I don't care what side you're on, the fact that the president is clearly being given false information should be setting off everyone's alarm bells, period.

sick of seeing FNAF, don't wanna see fanart, streams, or anything of another franchise owned by a guy who donates proceeds to right wing boglords who want minorities culled.

If I see someone playing it, I hope your sleeves slide down constantly while washing your hands. Also I'm blocking you.

It simply should not be possible for the president to repeatedly claim that a major city is burning without a wall of live standups happening in that city clearly demonstrating that it is not

American broadcast journalism has utterly failed and is a dead industry, there's nothing left worth saving

I really, really need you to go back to reliably masking. It’s life and death. Maybe not for you and your family (although it’s very possible!), but for vulnerable people in your communities. Elders, kids, and immunocompromised folks, of which there are untold hundreds of thousands more now.

If I were actively trying to destroy the United States from within, going after and dismantling its public health would be like the first thing I’d do.

Just pointing that out.

This is beyond dangerous. It’s leaving us vulnerable in a way we can’t really fathom until it’s too late.

I cannot explain enough how much ai don't want AI generated YouTube summaries. There's literally a spot for us to put our own. if people don't use it or use it poorly that's their problem. get this crap out of my face.

Honestly, though, if this isn’t the most indicative example of the thoughtless individualism that’s destroying us. “Oh, I ran into the grocery store without a mask. I just parked in the [not nice word for disabled] spot for a minute. I’m just worried about the price of groceries.”
annabookwriter.bsky.social
I actually get more annoyed when people say they “just” use AI for their emails or to check their grammar. You’re killing people. For your banal shit. Not for some great discovery or curing cancer. Because you can’t write an email.

who taught you that suffering in silence was noble, and how would you shutting up have benefited them?

Arbitrarily breaking these up means people who do get their kids vaccinated will still inevitably pick and choose, because that’s what always happens. This will drop uptake rates not just for “skeptics” but for people who believe in vaccination because 3 shots psychologically feels like too many.
ryanmarino.bsky.social
The MMR vaccine is one of the most stunningly effective medical therapeutics in existence. It’s also safer than most of your everyday activities. This is simply an attempt to stop people from vaccinating.

The acting director of the CDC called for new, separate MMR shots. That would be "remarkably complicated, time-consuming, costly, but more importantly unnecessary," @jasonlschwartz.bsky.social told me:

"yeah, I have trouble organizing tasks. That's why I like this machine, it turns 1 task into a dozen and I have to check each one to make sure it's not absolute fucking nonsense, and if so triage it for editing and correction"

People *without* executive dysfunction are finding that using chatgpt buries them under multitasking: they have to expend more effort and attention in more tasks to check that it hasn't outputted *absolute fucking nonsense*

Outsourcing your executive functioning to a machine that very literally has none at all, makes you worse at performing tasks than that chimpanzee.

The task will expand to fill available space.

You will perceive yourself as being busy and active the whole time, performing the task.

Certain subtasks will bloom into their own subtasks.

The yak will get shaved.

Yak Shaving Defined - I'll get that done, as soon as I shave this yak.
I've used the term Yak Shaving for years. You're probably shaving yaks at work ...

A journalist not asking basic followup questions to a person in power, has a goal.

If you assumed that goal was "informing the public," you would think they were failing at that goal instead of very successfully attaining it.

Ew ew ew just for an ad for one of those AI assistants in which a woman asks it to write a haiku about her cat.

You can’t write a 3 line, 17 syllable poem about your cat?????

What is being alive for if not writing tiny little poems about your cat??!!

Add this to my joker file. Good lord.

If an entire industry can only exist through exploitation, maybe it isn't one that should exist at all. Crazy, I know.
