I've finally released the first full edition of Fear and Panic! This is the most focused, streamlined version of a d100 horror system I could build, based on countless hours of playtesting and experience as a horror GM.

I know this is an RPG question, but speaking as someone with a day job that regularly requires looking at construction drawings and as-builts, yes, please, start numbering hallways. And listing their square footage.

Turned out to be this one: bsky.app/profile/bari...

Game Jam called "Make It Fit" where we try to force a system to do something that it shouldn't do at all while still maintaining the ethos of the system. Farming mechanics in Blades in the Dark. Orbital Blues dating simulator. Draw Steel store management sim.

Put me on the list for this one. I have ideas. Maybe even a half-finished project.

Help! Someone in one of my 100 discord servers suggested a game jam making wildly discordant game hacks, and I have a great idea, but I can't find which server it was.

Oh, to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Appleseed, but with funky dice and tarot decks.

Time to build a local RPG design scene again!

I bet Fantom Comics would show it. They do a lot of screenings and have Wingspan on their shelves.

Could be. I started noticing it after watching The 6th Day, Fury Road, and Dark City in a row on a particularly odd day. It's also what every Neil Breen movie is. Not every action movie, but a decently large chunk.

3. Protagonist has a revelation or realization about the nature of their world, and may unlock or reveal some inner power. Not necessarily mystical but definitely can be.
4. Protagonist turns and destroys their pursuers, then rights the wrongs of the world.

1. Protagonist notices things that are off or odd about their world. May or may not include elements of existential mystery.
2. Protagonist is pursued by seemingly vastly powerful foes and flees, barely surviving.

There's a certain narrative that shows up repeatedly in genre movies and the YA fiction I remember. It's not the (thoroughly debunked) Joseph Campbell Hero's Journey. I'm wondering if anyone here can help me find a name. There are basically four parts: (1/3)

Orcini, Knight of the Grand Order of Oberon, who upheld its code to the very end despite his exile and the loss of his mechanical leg.
A distinguished looking man with a goatee wearing a black leather jacket, gloves, and a single golden medal on his chest, standing next to a shorter, grimy looking man in a green uniform

The hardest part about sharing your work isn't the technical stuff it's trusting that your community wants to see you succeed. They do. The TTRPG space is built on people supporting each other's creative journeys. Join that tradition.

Slav Borg probably has the most fun goblins, since you play as street-racing goblin gopniks.

Goblin started as a broad term for lots of different folklore creatures - and honestly it still is. I suspect the cute/social/childish goblins come from Paizo giving their goblins big heads, which they meant to be grotesque but humans instinctually see as a neotenic trait.

I confused Troika with Risus for the longest time. Glad I got that sorted out!

Me writing a wizard text book every time I add a new wizard name only for the text book author to insert an academic slight against them then I add a bolded glossary term that is also a mechanic for the rpg and the named wizard discovered it but the author is still being petty: teehee *feet kicking*

The Yog-sothoth.com forums were always polite and friendly (due to careful moderation). They're still around and s pretty nice place to talk CoC and horror in general, but not as active as they used to be!

Also Countdown. Hastur Mythos and Night Floors are incredible, but I really enjoy Phenomen-X too, and I use the Report on Groversville [Redacted] as a handout every time I run Convergence.

As someone who has been resisting the temptation to turn my game into a universal system this sure is an interesting thing to read.
