She also pulled no punches in the interview! She had some great things to say about the craft of lettering- but also about reading Northstar's coming out issue before publication. Like, if I met her in person, I would probably scream in delight...then ask her to sign a billion comics.

OMG, it's Ariana Maher! I'm blushing! Thanks for asking- I put out a book all about the first volume of Alpha Flight and Janice was kind enough to chat with me about her lettering work on the book. Having her voice included was so important to me. I was legit starstruck talking to her on the phone.

Interesting. I wonder what Janice Chiang’s thoughts on it are. In her interview for my book, she went into a fairly detailed description of her approach to the art of lettering- which included the tails of balloons. So much of that didn’t make the cut of the book- but the convo was fascinating.
