Cynthia Erick’s version of No
Good Deed (a song I don’t really care about normally) is going to fucking rip.

No worries! If it ever becomes a TV show I’ve cast the whole thing in my head 😂😂😂

Just finished A Beginners Guide to Breaking and Entering by @andrewhunterm.bsky.social which -

A) was delightful
B) got me out of a protracted reading slump
C) made me giggle out loud 3 on three separate tube journeys

Shout out to the Herne Hill Oxfam for continuing a GOAT-streak on book finds

I truly believe in my bones I’d be a good theatre producer and no one can tell me otherwise

What job are you extremely unlikely to ever get that you think you would kick ass at?

I think I could book compelling wrestling storylines.

Reminds me of @iandunt.bsky.social recent Substack about how these people hate London because, for all its flaws, it works.
maddiefallsover.bsky.social
Genuinely very funny that after weeks of ‘London has fallen’ type articles lamenting the death of community/law and order, this is the scene I’m met with on my local green this morning

I’m an AI skeptic in general (and doomer on 99% of its applications in creative fields) but the medical technology stuff is genuinely insanely revolutionary and it’s mad we don’t talk about it more

I’m very biased as I was there, but I’d say her Primavera set with Troye Sivan was best realisation of the Brat era/energy if you’re interested - youtu.be/vzRtHVBcDIM?...

Apologies for the snark in the original post.

I’d also say artists like Charli live can never fully translate on screen IMO, it’s just so much about the energy and sheer wall of sound when you’re physically there, more than any vocal or production elements.

Fair! She definitely was singing live, just on a heavily processed mic, which was the style on her last 3 albums.

I don’t think a DJ set would have worked on one of the main stages, that scale requires performance IMO (hence why she DJ’d on one of the smaller stages slats year)

In case we needed anymore evidence that Gen X/elderly millennials have replaced the boomers in the cultural role of ‘just not getting it’.

Imagine complaining about the lack of live vocals at a Charli XCX set 😂😂😂

Was looking forward to #charlixcx but she’s not… singing? Or it’s just playback karaoke. Don’t approve.

To be embarrassing earnest for a second - Lorde is probably the most important musical artist to me on a deeply personal level and I’m so grateful for this album.

“I Quit,” Haim’s new album, “is about submitting to the wild and mercurial whims of the universe—accepting that we can’t control when love comes, or when it goes,” Amanda Petrusich writes. “In a way, the album’s primary feeling is one of deep relief.”
