I think a lot of us get hope wrong. Hope, I do not believe, is an emotion. In fact, hope makes space for lots of emotions to exist alongside it. You can DO hope scared, angry, sad etc...

Hope doesn't find us. We make hope through action and struggle. It's a practice of living and is re-made daily.

Don’t forget to set your clocks aside tonight. Forget them in the back of the sock drawer. Box them unlabeled in the attic for ten unopened years. Hit snooze and bury them twelve feet deep in the backyard.

Still not over this story by @eminietfeld.bsky.social –– absolute must read not least for the fact that...

"The situation reveals one of the fundamental imbalances of surrogacy: When a surrogate breaks contract, her IPs can stop paying her and stop paying the medical bills for her pregnancy."
The Baby Died. Whose Fault Is It?

Our big social media platforms have been *intentionally designed* to make it near impossible to find (and post) useful, timely information about disasters, as this article points out - this has been angering me for years.

We need “most recent” and functional search!

Which Bluesky provides.
Social media platforms are not built for this
We have simultaneously too much and too little information.
