I agree that it’s high fucking time that we stopped acting like we need to grovel and constantly justify the existence of some of our most incredibly elemental and ancient human pursuits.
Are the humanities the only disciplines whose classes begin with modules speaking to the importance of studying the humanities? "Why study the humanities?" and "Why the humanities are important" must be cliches.

After executing Alex Pretti on Saturday, ICE has shifted to primarily targeting bus stops and elementary schools in my community this week. I cannot overstate how much of the ICE activity in my community is just targeting places where little kids are.
Video from this morning shows ICE agents deploying tear gas outside a Minneapolis preschool as parents shout, “This is a preschool! There’s kids here!”

The FBI is claiming that sharing ICE’s license plates with a group chat is doxxing, but apparently creating databases of ICE observers with the goals of encouraging harassment and violence toward them is standard practice.

Every accusation is a confession.

Maher Tarabishi, who has been detained by ICE since October, was the primary caretaker of his disabled adult child, Wael.

On Jan. 23, Wael died from complications related to Pompe disease, a rare genetic condition.

look, as an Iranian American I can safely say that no one really cares about kidnapping and hostage taking at foreign embassies and it is not something that countries hold long grudges about - so I think this will quickly pass.
