maybe the biggest difference between LLMs and every other computer you ever used is that other computers can A) do math and B) give you an error message if you try to get it to do something it can’t do
One of the things that really fucking annoys me about AI is that people *do not understand it* (on purpose, bc these companies want it that way) and they assume it’s as reliable as the computers they’ve been using their whole life when it’s actually about as reliable as your least capable intern
lol this is gonna burst so fucking hard

Undiluted sadism.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

No, not a new and exotic form of torture -- although, on second thought, it could be.

Cancelled my subscription to the Washington Post. It won't take effect until late June. If they give me reason to hope before then, I'd love to renew. Not looking good, though.

So, as I remember, in 1975, the North Vietnamese started an offensive and were making some progress. The South Vietnamese government decided to abandon the northern half of South Vietnam so that they could bolster their defenses around Saigon. Unfortunately, this only accelerated the collapse. /1
