1) USPS did not lose $3.3b. It provided a service that cost $3.3b. *The Pentagon* loses you money, however, every time it accidentally yeets a fighter jet off the deck of a carrier
NEW: The U.S. Postal Service posted a net loss of $3.3 billion in this fiscal year’s second quarter mainly due to “significant challenges out of our control,” including workers’ compensation costs, Luke Grossmann, USPS chief financial officer, said at the open session of the governing board meeting

I just got an email that my doc appt is now virtual, probably bc they were trying to reschedule it Lol. I would’ve much preferred to see someone in person since I actively have symptoms but that’s ok ig at least I’ll be talking to someone abt it..

I’m not sure if I have low salt bc I do drink sports drinks on a regular basis. But I don’t think I get a lot of salt in my diet otherwise (due to just not eating a whole lot in general) so maybe it’s still not enough

Whenever a topic like lrt comes up I think of a quote that’s like “we look for meaning in art because we know meaning was put into it. if a monkey at a typewriter wrote shakespeare by chance you wouldn’t analyze it the same way you would as written by shakespeare” so true and puts it perfectly imo

AI could write a fucking Beckett play *and I still wouldn't want to engage with it by reading or seeing it performed* precisely because it's ultimately hollow. There's no connection. Words are a conduit, not a means to themselves. If there is no mind at the other end, it's just a toxic simulacrum.
I imagine it's easier to come to this rather generous conclusion if you have already built a glittering and secure literary career www.theguardian.com/books/2025/m...

praying that the AI bubble pops before the next console generation so that sony and microsoft have to strip out the bullshit AI features they're definitely working on right now
