It’s been kind of a whirlwind couple of weeks, and I can finally talk about one of the highlights: I got to review NHL 26 for IGN! If you’re on the fence about whether to buy this year’s game, check it out!

Has anyone ever done the math on how much money Steve Martin’s character loses throughout the course of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles? It’s gotta be a ridiculous amount.

I'm an "A.i." abolitionist.

No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.

Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.

But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?

No.

It’s possible this pull quote makes more sense in context. A lot of times companies will request this type of thing and it doesn’t look great the way it gets chopped. But it certainly makes it sound like the writer at Deadline was totally unaware of the, like, thousand faith-based horror flicks.
Not to trot out the “people will tweet anything” meme, but…

People come to Bluesky and kick the hornet’s nest like Macaulay Culkin in My Girl, and then have the audacity to act like it’s a platform problem. I assure you, if you go to someone’s house for Thanksgiving tomorrow and immediately shit on the floor, your experience there won’t be great either.

What’s happening right now is like the episode of The Simpsons where Mr. Burns discovers that he’s broke, and his yes men weren’t telling him. Trump is mentally checked out, and surrounded by people telling him what he wants to hear, while they each loot the country.
At this point, I wonder if he isn't lying when he says he has "my highest Poll Numbers, ever" since it's entirely possible that's what his aides are telling him. It's quite likely that there's an entire Potemkin village built around Trump right now.
Trump responds to a detailed report about his waning energy and propensity to sleep through on-camera events by calling the New York Times's Katie Rogers ugly

Started reading some old Spider-Man Clone Saga comics on Marvel Unlimited. I read some of it as it was coming out, but I was pretty young, so I couldn’t keep up with everything that was coming out. The one thing that really strikes me is that the good stuff is actually really good.

To each their own, but the movie theater experience is the absolute best. I love it so much. I mostly do the mainstream theater (usually one of two Regal Cinemas that are fairly close), but I have done indie theaters too. Never done the food theater. We don’t really have those close by.
god, i just love going to the freakin' movies!!

This is 100% the correct take. Post-RotS Star Wars was a lot like post-RotJ in the early ‘90s. There were some highlights during both points, but the franchise was starting to become very niche, and only kept alive by diehard fans. Disney pulled it out of the basement.
73. Disney saved Star Wars. This is what Saved Star Wars looks like. Before they opened their suitcase full of money, Lucasfilm’s best ideas they had going at the time were that I’m Han Solo Kinect game and Star Wars Detours.

Look, you can’t destroy countless jobs, bust unions, drive up grocery prices, and jack up healthcare costs and then complain that people aren’t buying enough things.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

Oof. I wasn’t planning on buying any of the new Combiners, but three Stunticons for $45, plus I get three other figures? Sigh. Guess I gotta hope Motormaster and Dragstrip get reissued.
There are still a lot of Hasbro Transformers Deluxe 2-packs on sale at Walmart for $15.00 - bit.ly/3XMZMzx #ad

Google has screwed countless creators with its AI push. People are losing tons of money, all for a search engine that’s no longer reliable. And they’re screwing anyone that just tries to use it, too. We need a company to come out with a 100% anti-AI search engine, because Google needs to die.
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

I don’t buy plushies. I will buy action figures all day. But plushies are a mental line I can’t cross as an adult. No shame to anyone that’s into them, but I personally can’t get over that hill. But man, that Samus helmet is reeeeeeeeeally tempting.

Not my order, but future president Pritzker knows Star Wars pretty well, I think.
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

Comedy is incredibly subjective, but Super Bad ranked as the funniest movie of the last 25 years? Also, The Waterboy making the list over The Wedding Singer or Happy Gilmore? Anchorman placing and not Step Brothers? Team America and not South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut? NO GHOSTBUSTERS?!?

Beat up the Blackhawks on Friday, and handily took down the Hurricanes on Sunday. Great couple games from the Sabres.

Malenstyn with one of the sickest Sabres goals I’ve seen this year. Wow wow wow.
