While Houston Street was named after William Houstoun, the street's spelling got changed at some point even though the pronunciation did not

What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?

Have been tagged in to provide the reminder about traumatic video because of the Charlie Kirk shooting video going around!

1. Settings -> Content & Media, turn off "autoplay video"
2. Keep your device sound off while browsing so an accidental activation won't include the sound

The end of the article (or the giant Dropout reddit thread) gives you the skip to the ending directions. It looks like 100,000 is the number needed to put the code in to unlock a surprise extra Game Changer episode.
A screenshot from the website ep11.love after entering the code SAMALAMADINGDONG. The background features a vibrant sunburst pattern in shades of orange, yellow, red, and blue, emanating from the bottom center. A large black-bordered white rectangle in the upper half contains the main congratulatory text, while a smaller black-bordered white rectangle with a yellow progress bar is positioned below it.

The congratulatory text, in all caps, states:
"Congrats on exposing Sam's secret
You are game changer superfan #5190
94810 others needed to unlock episode 11"

NEW: What went wrong with Dragon Age: The Veilguard? Why was the writing so tonally inconsistent? Why did it feel so shallow? Why were there so few choices?

Really, after ten years of turbulence, it was a miracle that anything came out at all. This is the story: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Gough (as Dedra) has such an epic line: "I will guarantee a level of engagement, but it will be inversely proportional to the volume of anxiety you generate in our lives". Intersections between domestic drama & rebellion are fun and make the characters a galaxy away feel real.

There were so many good moments in the first three episodes of Andor's new season; the fondue dinner to meet essentially the mother-in-law was hilarious. Denise Gough's comment: "It's amazing how many people in America really connect with that scene, especially women"

There are a limited number of £5 standing tickets at the Globe released on Fridays for the following week if they like Shakespeare & can stand for 2-3 hours. Broadway Market has become more touristy but you can walk from there to Victoria Park (or vice versa) in a straight line on the canal path.

Not April Fools' releated but a timely article on Apothecary Diaries by @shineyezehuhh.bsky.social which I think hits on why I've enjoyed it so much (murder mysteries, hierarchical/court intrigue, etc):

While I don't currently own any cats, here are some at a cat cafe I went to. They partner with a local shelter to get cats at the cafe adopted.
Floofy black cat with a white chest & paws mostly out of sight; it has very green eyes and bit of white fur on its right side lip & nose. It is sitting up and looking over it's shoulder. It is next to a white pet water fountain that has a green basin and the spout is a flower. Corner of a room with wall shelves for cats. On the left white wall, there is an orange shelf with an orange & white floofy cat asleep on it. On the back orange wall, there are white shelves with a brown tabby cat on the closest shelf to the orange shelf. The tabby is staring intensely at the tail of the floofy cat.

The way I found out I was missing a random childhood vaccine was cleaning out my mom's house & finding school records where she filled in the dates on med forms. Pneumococcal only joined the routine pediatric schedule in 2000; my PCP quickly fixed that for me 🤣

Neither my partner nor I were charged at CVS for the booster in Dec (didn't check ahead of time, no questions asked). I think the framing when asking is that you can't verify so do they cover titers for the MMR or do they recommend (and cover) jumping straight to the booster without checking
margaretwanders.bsky.social
Most people don't have *documented proof* of their childhood vaccines so it depends on your insurance. The MMR is a recommended vaccine & the HHS states "most insurance plans are required to cover recommended vaccines without charging you".
