55 years ago today, Satchel Paige was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. A few years ago I wrote about the path he took — we all took, honestly — to this glorious day.

Frank Robinson is the only player in history to win Rookie of the Year, league MVP, All-Star game MVP, and World Series MVP. As a lagniappe, he added an extra MVP (giving him one in each league) and Manager of the Year.

There is really no difference between mocking DEI programs, or complaining about losing Aunt Jemima’s Syrup, and posting a video of the Obamas as apes. Donald Trump has done all of those things but it’s all just racist bullshit dressed in different clothing. Just own it.

Earlier today I watched The Third Man, for at least the fourth time. Not exactly breaking news, but it is a masterpiece, one of the greatest film experiences I can ever hope to have.
