Sure, we've known for years that speed cameras work well to protect kids in school zones, enforce laws that make roads safer for everybody, keep motorists' insurance rates low AND free up law enforcement to concentrate on real criminal activity, but....

We literally just watched this type of thing in 2 separate US election cycles. Kamala was attacked by the left for being too far right, ditto with Hillary. Both were called war mongers & corporate shills. It helped deliver a win to a murderous authoritarian regime instead.
