Putting this in my slideshow for today’s talk!
Yesterday I used this "AI -Free Statement" in a conference talk for the first time. Still trying to figure out the exact language.

Feel free to borrow, modify, etc.

Personally, I could never make this person's method work because I fundamentally cannot make myself care about the responses of something that does not think, feel, or communicate with intention. I can't respect its responses so I'm not interested in them.

This article is so “rosy.” Like there’s not a single prof who’s ethically against? What about students who prefer to actually do all the work themselves without feeding the climate-destroying, built-on-theft, plagiarism machines? Blech.

…As anyone teaching college level writing/research projects over the last few years either already knows well…or needs to take note, the AI slop is real and it is everywhere because some folks don’t believe that doing the work and supporting it with real research and data is valuable. Sad.

Awareness is our purpose—curiosity and art and discovery. That's the everything. I don't think we should let anyone tell us any different.

We should reject the doomed submerged life they demand we live, and embrace the radical act of surfacing to life.

There's a reason they didn't release the names of the people who authored the report, they literally aren't even doctors with medical experience. An MIT philosophy professor is one of the authors.
If you open the anti-trans HHS report’s appendix in NotePad, you’ll see that it was compiled by Alex Byrne.

The appendix is a rigorous, scientific overview of systematic reviews.

Alex Byrne is an MIT philosophy professor with no apparent background in science, let alone expertise in it.
