Scene: summer 2027, me standing on a hill overlooking another US city burning to the ground. Speaking to no one in particular as the gun battle inches closer.
"You know, the world was a much better place when we had a mainstream media that most people accepted as truth."
RIP Steve Cropper. Nearly 1K credits on RYM. Here's one missing - a Dennis Coffey style instrumental LP from 1973.

If we allow antivaxxers to win this fight, it will reinforce the "too many too soon" lie. They won't stop here.
JOURNALISTS: It's essential to know how to cover the upcoming #CDC #ACIP mtg on the #hepB #hepatitisB #vaccine for newborns. Delaying the birth dose rec to 2 mos could cause 480+ deaths/yr. Check out this backgrounder for all the links & research you need. healthjournalism.org/blog/2025/12...
Why reporters should cover this week's CDC meeting on hepatitis B vaccine and more
The CDC will discuss its current policy of hepatitis B vaccination at birth and other recommendations from Dec. 4-5. Here's what to know.

Another thing these people all have in common: none of them are part of the group of doctors well known from the anti-vax activist circuit. All radicalized by COVID. That means something, I just dont clearly see what.
What do all the Covid “contrarian” MDs have in common?

Prasad: heme/onc
Atlas: rads
Ladapo: cards
Makary: surg
JayB: no residency(??)
McCullough: cards
“Dr Drew”: addiction
Cole: pathology
Etc, etc

None have either specialty training or direct experience in treating critically Covid patients.

This made me laugh so hard I damn near fell off the treadmill at the gym. OMG - concealing identity while doing street violence?

I bought this in winter of 89/90 when I was first getting into free jazz. PJ recommended this along with a few other heavies - a couple by Noah Howard, Frank Wright, Patty Waters. Somehow, I kept em all through at least 20 moves since. Most of haul were from John Sinclair collection.

Found a banger today. Sun Ra and Blues Project are the players. And unlike other weird sell out cameos, it sounds like them. Isn't there another Dan and Dale with the VU on it?

Always fun to see the people most afraid of potential unknown late stage bad effects of vaccines so whole heartedly embracing GLP-1, testosterone biohacking, botox, etc
Remember Andrew Wakefield?
Here he is with his friend RFK Jr. in 2020.

Wakefield is the guy behind the fraudulent, retracted MMR–autism study. He lost his medical license for subjecting autistic children to unnecessary invasive procedures.

Now, with Kennedy in power, he’s getting a second act.

When directors are trying to capture this era in future films, i think absurdly overdeveloped biceps on paunchy middle aged men will work. Just like how pastel and neon drop you in the mid-80s.
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

As someone who was kind of on the ground floor of the mass alt-med movement in the 90s, seeing this is like seeing the monster come to life and destroy the town. I bolted from the group about 2007 or so, because I was seeing how dangerous the misinformation was getting.
About that exclusive, "closed-to-press" MAHA summit last week with RFK and JD Vance: I got in.

Here's what I saw. 🧵 🧪

The cohort study that represents the most definitive take-down of the vaccine/autism hypothesis is one of the biggest ever done.
Oh, and the guy most responsible for this myth has lost his medical license because his study was unethical and didn't disclose his conflict of interest.
This is completely disgusting. Today, the CDC updated their vaccine safety page. It now says:

“The claim "vaccines do not cause autism" is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism”.

Providers in SC required to warn patients about the tooth fairy and Bigfoot before giving COVID vaccines.
Those side effects from the hundreds of millions of vaccines we gave in 2020 should show up any minute.
Note: no disrespect if you had real time issues.

Tearing down ACA round six, pro-tip: if they talk about free markets and price negotiations, ask if that applies to drug costs under Medicare. If the answer is no, their plan is simply to squeeze providers harder and push chronically I'll out of insurance market.

@jvl.bsky.social I'm hoping to get you interested in writing about the Seattle mayor race, which is kinda like the NYC one on a superficial level, but also really really not.

Its a thing.

There's a moment on here where the band is playing along in some jazzy original, and they all land on a dissonant stacked chord, then turn left and tear into a minute of Better Git It In Your Soul by Mingus. Fantastic.

This one gets me thinking of the great 80s new wave comps. See also: Siouxie, Cramps, Buzzcocks, EatB, Cure... My intros to most of these bands. Who am I missing?

The comments under this article remind me that some 40% of the country are ok with executing people who may be small time drug runners but who are not under the jurisdiction of the US. When you stop caring about laws, you probably shouldn't point any fingers.
GÜIRIA, Venezuela (AP) — One was a fisherman struggling to eke out a living on $100 a month. Another was a career criminal. A third was a former military cadet. And a fourth was a down-on-his-luck bus driver.

I passed a very very angry looking person (12th and Jackson for Seattle-ites) with a sign that just said "food." Here's the thing: by re-nuking SNAP, the Supreme Court is likely to incite violence in poor neighborhoods in big cities. Feature or bug?

I can't believe this screen grab is real, but...
It does seem like this dude is living out Citizen Kane 2 directed by one of those hacks who makes the CGI superhero movies for Amazon.
I know people think Musk only bought Twitter to help the rise of fascism.

While that’s important, I still think it’s secondary to his primary goal, which was to own the place where his fans praise him.

With AI, Musk’s use of the platform for love and validation is only getting more transparent.
