Very nice new framework for social games flexibly combining continuous social interactions with their sensorimotor implementation. A wonderful work of @violapriesemann.bsky.social and colleagues.

🚨NEW BLOGPOST 🚨

Some sanguine reflections on politics going "post-literate" and how the main parties can adapt - learning both the mechanics and the vernacular of short form video and the new social media.

This is great. It naturally follows that Musk can only get out of our politics if politicians and political journalists stop using the social media site he controls.

It's #BlasphemyDay, a reminder of ongoing global work to defend freedom of expression. While the UK (except N. Ireland) & several nations have repealed archaic blasphemy laws, too many still face severe penalties simply for voicing critical, non-conforming, or even satirical views about religion.

Thank you for this data-rich thread that chimes with the frustration felt by PMCs working in the valuable 'education export' industry (i.e. universities), the viability of which is threatened by caps and levies on those exports (i.e. foreign students) to appease the nativists.

On the morning of Keir Starmer's conference speech here's a new post on an odd psychopathology in British politics - our main parties don't like the people who vote for them - the dreaded Professional Managerial Class. And so they are acting out like a divorced dad seeking cooler voters. 1/n

I am genuinely baffled and distressed as to why the UK government is intent on destroying UK's genuinely world-leading universities, who bring £265 billion into the economy and support more than 250,000 jobs.

This tax will kill us.

I’m at a slightly curious political event in Westminster, a kind of Glastonbury for progressive politicians. Apart from Keir Starmer, also appearing are Mark Carney, Anthony Albanese, Pedro Sanchez, Jacinda Ardern, Rachel Reeves, David Lammy, Pete Buttigieg - this list goes on.

This should be an opportunity for the other parties - Reform's proposal is extreme, violates basic fairness norms, and would threaten millions of people who have made their lives here and played by the rules. This approach should be condemned as nasty, unworkable and contrary to British fair play.
