Haven't read the ID card stuff because I got bored during the last go round. But the problems are

- will cost a lot more than the millions estimated and will take forever to be implemented
- it will be gamed by criminals (almost anything can be)
- As Jeremy Hardy said, 'you would lose the fucker'

The political class frame this as 'We need to have a conversation with white working class voters and meet them where they are'
But then what are we saying to ethnic minorities. 'I know you're apprehensive and yes, you may well be stripped of your citizenship and deported but sorry, it's politics'

I went on a personal crusade around Hastings
and got several flags lowered. Had to have others
join me in getting the Hastings ACE Hardware to
lower theirs, they said "Lowering the flag would be
making a political statement." Before they finally
caved under the pressure.
