I know this is kind of spitting into the wind, but I'd like to make an effort:

Just because ICE calls them "administrative warrants" doesn't make that the most accurate term for them.

They are forms. ICE forms. Signed by an ICE employee. Authorizing an arrest, but still, a _form._

Among (lots of) other things, this is going to flood the federal courts of appeals with cases in which the BIA might previously have cleaned up the IJ's messes.

When something like this happened in 2004, the circuit courts ... did not respond favorably to the government's positions in those cases.
🚨HOLY CRAP. The Trump admin just took a SLEDGEHAMMER to due process, largely eliminating the Board of Immigration Appeals process and MANDATING DISMISSAL of ALL appeals (which cost $1,000 thanks to OBBBA) filed after tomorrow unless a majority of the BIA votes to hear the case.

They were never going to get to their stated deportations goal with due process. So they're phasing it out.

i am not saying the would have won in 2024, what i am saying is that they would be even better positioned today had they run on reframing the “border crisis” as a humanitarian one requiring a compassionate solution

the biden border bill and choosing to run on a “border patrol endorsed” piece of legislation should go down as not only cowardly and backward thinking but one of the worst strategic political decisions by democrats in recent memory, everyone involved should be out of politics forever

63% of voters disapprove of ICE

60% want ICE out of Minneapolis

58% want Kristi Noem removed from office

The US immigrant population generated more in taxes than they received in benefits from all levels of government every year from 1994 to 2023.

notably, all of the cases in this screenshot are civil suits against Trump officials, not criminal cases.
The attorney working for DOJ who asked to be held in contempt so she could get some sleep and said "this job sucks" was assigned **88** federal cases in less than a month, per a court docket search.

Again, this is FALSE. Administrative warrants are NOT signed by an immigration judge (or any judge at all). They are generated and signed by ICE officers themselves with no external oversight whatsoever.

Here is a blank sample warrant. Note who signs off on it; an "immigration officer."

HUGE. A victory for more than a quarter million Haitians with Temporary Protected Status. A significant majority of them entered the United States legally and have never been out of status since.

Even the Trump admin isn't saying Haiti is a safe country for them to go back to.
BREAKING: Judge Ana Reyes, in DC, issues a stay of DHS Sec. Noem’s decision to end Haiti’s temporary protected status (TPS) designation, a decision that was to go into effect on Tuesday and could have ended legal status for up to 350,000 people overnight. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

I am not making this up. He walked right up to a lurking unmarked car and they tore out of town

How many times in your life have you heard a member of Congress or someone on TV say “we can’t afford it” when talking about something small but very important? It’s been happening my entire life. We can’t afford it? They’re putting seven times the annual budget of the EPA into immigrant detention.
