Immigration "administrative law judges" are not judges. They are DOJ employees reporting to the Attorney General
JD Vance: "Nobody is talking about doing immigration enforcement without a warrant. We're talking about different types of warrants that exist in our system. Typically in the immigration system, those are handled by administrative law judges. So we're talking about getting warrants from them."

I try to avoid hyperbole when it comes to Trump policies, but this is absolutely frickin’ insane—on about eleventy different levels.

Massive, systemic Fourth Amendment violations because … reasons.
ICE secretly told its officers that any time someone has been ordered removed, ICE can break down their door.

It has been accepted for generations that the only thing which can authorize agents to break into your home is a warrant signed by a judge. No wonder ICE hid this memo!

HBO’s Critical Incident has been out for 3 weeks. The film shows how the current CBP Commissioner Scott used illegal coverup teams to hide murders by his agents when he was Border Patrol San Diego Chief. He is now in charge of these same teams. Not a single dem in Congress has mentioned this film.

My god. The memo cites one case...which stands for the proposition that YOU DO NEED A WARRANT!
This is insane. INSANE. Without any legal basis at all, this memo says ICE doesn't need a warrant (or probable cause) to break into someone's home to arrest them. It's like a memo that says, "Actually, you DON'T have the right to remain silent."

🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional!

ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.

I said this several weeks before Renee Good's killing, but man, it's incredible how brave these women out there are. Thousands of them, spending days, weeks, months just trying to get a phone number from detainees. They've prevented so many disappearances. ICE hates them for a reason.
I've watched countless videos now of confrontations between DHS agents and ICE observers, and it's awesome how many are women recording, challenging male agents, refusing to give up their rights. I'd say the number of women involved in documenting ICE crimes outnumber men three to one or more.

We really need a fed law that makes it nearly impossible for federal law enforcement officers to dress like this. Not just the masks, all of it. And those who do cannot be dispatched absent some sort of statutorily-defined exigent circumstances, set at a high bar. No routine work like this. Ever.
Border Commander Greg Bovino stands outside a South Minneapolis gas station this morning with BORTAC officers in what seemed like an effort to draw more and more people to the scene as other agents shoot high resolution video of the crowd yelling and blowing whistles.

The justices keep returning to the hypo of a Fed governor posting pro-Nazi videos to ask whether that would meet the bar for for-cause removal. The idea that this kind of content would obviously cross the line seems a bit farcical given some of the material that DHS regularly posts on social media

1) he doesn't think fascism is necessarily a bad thing at all
2) he recognizes that the threat of dictatorship actually anguishes ppl who believe in the constitution, and is devastating to their national pride/dignity
3) it inflates his sense of power—ie, he could be a dictator if he wanted
4) etc..
When he told Zohran it's okay to call him a fascist, I thought this too -- I think he doesn't care about the allegations because he doesn't find them insulting per se. He really does think being a dictator or fascist is not necessarily bad and likes to keep a teasing tone about it.
