More effective than donating to the Dems
According to my local food bank, $1 = 2 meals.
So a donation of $25 is 50 meals.
A little can go a long way and you *can* make a difference.

A reminder - last March, republicans promised to restore $1.1B in funding to DC in exchange for funding the government, and Mike Johnson never took it up in the House.

If Chuck Schumer was a stronger leader, he would have been able to convince most of these senators to hold the line.
I’m terribly disappointed in him.

Any Democrat who "trusts" notoriously deceitful Republicans to keep their word on an ACA vote deal is too naive/stupid to be in office.
Let's fix that next time they are up for election. #PrimaryTheIdiots

The Dems who are caving are doing so not because their base wants them to,
not because the voters want them to,
not because the fed workers and SNAP recipients want them to…
they are caving because their DONORS want them to.
And that’s really all that ever matters to the corrupt

Soon in my inbox: Hello, it's the Democrats! We have decided to capitulate and cooperate with the fascists. Please donate between 5 and 50 dollars so that we can hire a marketing firm to help Republican politicians like us better. If you don't give, we won't be able to let them strip your rights!

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Are Senate Republicans suggesting that the health insurance industry is rife with fraud? I wonder if there's an alternative.
The talking point they came up with is so lame and pathetic. Yes, insurance premiums are paid to insurance companies. Yes, the subsidies help low and low-middle income people afford to pay them. That’s how the ACA works. Just admit you want to raise premiums on 22 million people.
