It seems odd to me that a “working environment” which requires people to focus on a specific thing for 2 hours is welcoming quite obvious distractions.

Feels more like pandering to demands than creating an environment conducive to given the film your full attention.

I always say this and have said it here recently - Franco’s cancellation was performative; he was an easy target at a time when they wanted to make an example of someone during MeToo. He can’t complain because he’s undoubtedly done some horrid things, but nobody cares eg that Brad Pitt is an abuser.

When Kalvin Phillips is 50 and people ask him about his career, he’ll say he won a Champions League & FA Cup with City, attended two major tournaments with England and also won the Championship with Leeds under the famous Marcelo Bielsa. Nobody will ask about his minutes.

But like I said before, it depends how much value he places on that. He’s still a footballer, he’s still training as a job. I think if he was an ambitious guy, he could have forced his way out of Man City by now. It’s a dream career regardless.

Winning a medal with your boyhood club is special, but securing the bag at City and knowing your children will never want for anything in life… that’s also special, just in a different way. Especially when your own dad has been a chocolate fire guard your whole life.

I could be completely wrong but I’ve always got the impression that he’s just not really driven in that way and is happy if he’s having a nice time. Maybe it’s the dimples, I don’t know.

It’s really boring to hear anyone from England talk about Jude Bellingham. Those people are lucky he had a pretty shit season last season, which gives them a carte blanche to slag him off. They’re going to hate life when he’s back to his best.

Sinisterra flopped as well, mainly due to being made of glass. Both him and Phillips were decent sales in that respect - we cashed in before Sinisterra’s value reduced and Kalvin’s completely bottomed out.

I live alone and I basically just do laundry every day. Endless loads of laundry. Where do my friends with kids find the time to do literally anything else? If there was more than just me in this flat, I’d genuinely have to quit work to keep up with my laundry.

#Duolingo is rubbish. Not for the first time, I did a perfect lesson yesterday and it’s saying I didn’t get any xp at all. Worst game ever.

One of those games where everything clicked for one team and nothing clicked for the other. Everything was lost when the Depor goal was disallowed.

Leeds & Depor should arrange a 25 year reunion friendly. After the match, the fans can bond over having since enjoyed multiple relegations, short lived promotions, financial collapse and the general joy of second/third tier football.
