I started playing through DK Bananza. It's definitely a lot like Super Mario Odyssey, so if that's your kind of game, you'll certainly like this one as well.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Hooktail eats 8 Toads to recover health. The game ensures these sacrificial Toads always stay in order to be eaten in the end. They are Mario's biggest fans, will always show up, and no action can make them leave.

I finished Pokemon Legends Z-A and honestly... I liked it. Sure, it's got some issues that may be familiar to those who've played the other modern Pokemon games, but the core experience was still quite enjoyable. In particular, the real-time combat was a refreshing take on the usual battle system.

I like Legends Z-A, but it's still pretty aggravating to me that modern Pokemon games still insist on taking away options for seemingly no reason. I'm tired of things like the mandatory EXP Share, especially since they should be ridiculously easy to fix.

I hate that so much of gaming discourse is just people focusing heavily on the negatives and tearing each other's favorite games down. Things would be a lot more pleasant if people could talk more about what they enjoy instead.

I've started playing Pokemon Legends Z-A recently. The start of the game was rather slow and handholdy. No surprises there, I guess. However, the combat is certainly pretty interesting. I'm glad they were willing to try something drastically different with it for this game.

It's kinda funny how this has four COMPLETELY different functions in the Paper Mario series.
-In the first three games, it restores 50 HP
-In Sticker Star, it gradually revives HP (like the Slow Shroom)
-In Color Splash, it restores paint in battle
-In TOK, it revives you (like the Life Shroom)

I often find that I prefer games that are flawed in ways, but also excellent in other ways, over ones that are just merely good all around.

If there's one potential fear I have for Mario RPGs moving forward, it's that they may try to prioritize one series over the other. Both Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi bring unique things to the Mario RPG landscape, and as such, they both should continue to co-exist.

Just out of curiosity, who else knew about the existence of this enemy in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time? No, I'm not talking about the full sarcophagus-themed enemy. You see plenty of those during a certain section of the game. I'm talking about this pharaoh-themed Snifit fighting all by itself.
