Cool seeing Boogie Nights on film & in the theater after having only seen it on DVD. I'd forgotten Robert Downey Sr. has a small part in it (the guy who owns/runs the studio where Wahlberg & Reilly cut their demo tapes). Interesting seeing this so soon after revisiting Hard Eight...

I hope that as more information comes out about the Epstein files, people feel less comfortable with making so many jokes about this sex trafficking situation involving who knows how many victims. Flippancy certainly has its place, but I don't think it's a good choice when referencing child rape.

A funny thing about scrolling through my feed here is seeing people refer to subjects I have no interest or knowledge of, like sports or video games, and they just mention names or titles or whatever that I'm sure need no context if you know the subject. But I have no idea who or what they are.

Pure b&w is the purest form of comics. Lines on a page, the absolute minimum translation from the hand of the artist to the eye and soul of the reader. No extra steps! Magnificent, gorgeous, efficient simplicity. It's a big reason that Peanuts and Calvin & Hobbes resonate so deeply with its readers.
