I was a Math and French major in college. BOTH majors have disappeared. French is not surprising, though still sad. BUT Mathematics? Administrators reassure me it has been replaced by Computer Science. I guess Mathematics wasn't practical enough.

What really bothers me is that the Senate is not actually a representative body and we should eliminate it at the same time we get rid of the electoral college. Then we can call it Congress and it will consist of congressional representatives and no one will be confused.

Earlier in my career, when I was doing HIV care, I depended on the MMWR for the most updated and accurate information and recommendations. I continue to die a bit more inside every time I hear another piece of news like this.

The editors of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) were apparently fired today.

The precursor to MMWR began in 1878 to address emerging public health threats rapidly.

We are not “great” without it. We are vulnerable to threats from sporadic foodborne illness to bioterrorism.

Excellent question. There is liver disease associated with Covid alone (CALI) but a very possible scenario is that Covid took an underlying condition such as NAFLD and made it critically worse.

Those could be causes but I would put NAFLD at the top of the list given lifestyle, diet, body habits.

Towards the bottom would be Hepatitis B or C
