If someone in any other job had to be yelled at to do something they would be fired. Politicians should be held to even higher standards.
support is more split on it than you'd think, we just need to pull away enough votes to block it. CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES!

There's a list at sencanada.ca/en/senators/; read up on them to figure out what angles might make the most sense for persuading them. Given that senators are appointed, though. "your vote" isn't relevant here.

Hearing some doom and gloom around this so I'm gonna clarofy a few things:
- The package passed on the sub-committee, NOT the full committee. Its not going to the House yet.
- KOSA passed 13-10, COPPA 2.0 passed 14-10. All Dems voted no, for good and bad reasons.
(Cont. Below
ATTENTION! The House of Energy and Commerce has pushed a package of(now 18) "child safety" bills to a subcommittee markup.
This means the bills will be likely voted on to go to a FULL committee markup, which sends it out to the House.
Call the Committee. Tell them to vote NO

- There's no direct date this year when it will be voted on. That said There's a "full committee member day" today so be aware of it.
- Panicking & dooming HELPS NO ONE. Your calls had an effect, so you need to KEEP CALLING. WE WILL WIN.

- Dems voted against KOSA due to the duty of care + against COPPA 2.0 due to preemption of state laws.
- With KOSA, the House is concerned with FTC overreach to police online free speech. This is a good thing + a sign that your advocacy is working!
