LRP: No one does deeply unwell characters like Battan. There's more openly horrible (Gunjou, for example), and also-shitty but more relatable (basically all of tmfly's HDWR), but whew. If I want to watch some flawed people make very bad decisions? No one does it like her.

A fantastic manga called Composing Spring in this Room where Cherry Blossoms Bloom convinced me of this. A woman goes through the ten year diary her dead lover started when they first got together. Very sad, but showed me how important it is to keep those memories.
I'm 48 now and regret not keeping a diary because I'm alarmed at how much of my life I've utterly forgotten. I mentioned this to a writing workshop comprised mainly of older people I taught last year, and one woman said, "Start now. START NOW. I'm 77 and I WISH had started keeping a diary at 50."
Those who are 35+, what advice do you have for people just entering their 30s?
