Open source is fun

The HackMD Sync @obsidian.md plugin was buggy, so I reached out to the author who gave me push access, and I just cut a release with bug fixes and new features.

I now use it daily to publish Obsidian notes for collaboration and feedback.

More of this, please!
Open source quietly powers everything from your terminal to your favorite frameworks, yet maintainers are often underfunded.

In 2025, CodeRabbit distributed over $600,000 directly to OSS maintainers, and we’re just getting started!

Thymol tastes and smells like thyme (hence the name). Most people, even if not very interested in gastronomy, can distinguish quite a few herbs and spices by their smell and taste. This could lead to a chewing gum that would diagnose any ENT infection.
Just published, a study describing a taste-based flu test yes, chewing gum that could tell you if you have influenza. The gum contains a sensor that detects the flu enzyme neuraminidase & releases a compound called thymol that changes taste when the virus is present.

This. Money is, and has always been, trickle up.

That means that the only thing that makes sense is to put it in at the bottom.

We need a universal basic income.

Everywhere it's been tried it worked.
Injecting fiat capital into the 'bottom' (the poorest of us) thru UBI / UUBI stimulates demand up the chain. Capital still flows upward to the investment class, but it is driven by market fundamentals instead of money-for-nothing get-rich-quick scams.
