Last week, a winter storm left behind a field of snow across parts of the Colorado and Kansas plains.

The snow has receded significantly since this weekend due to melting from warming temperatures in the region.

Even if we fuck it all up, the world will continue to be a beautiful and miraculous place.

Worst case scenario, maybe the corvids or orangutans or dolphins will do a better job with Gaia 2.0 if we have to hard reboot.
Sometimes, I feel overwhelmed with the shittiness of the world. Then, as I’m getting ready for work in the early morning, my young son comes running to me and says “Dad! Look outside at the sunrise!” with a big smile on his face.

Went to the one in Colorado back then.

The specter of global death represented by the little warheads was overwhelming.
40 years ago today, Barbara Donachy’s art installation “Amber Waves of Grain”—which used some 35,000 ceramic miniatures to depict every bomber, missile, submarine, warhead, and bomb in the US nuclear arsenal—opened in Boston after prior showings in New York, Washington, DC, Colorado, and Berlin.

How is this not inciting violence?

Why must they remind ICE that they have immunity?

One of their agents just shot a killed a woman in broad daylight and they’re effectively telling them to go ahead and do whatever they want because they’re above the law.

Be safe Minneapolis.

“Serving for both Republican and Democratic administrations, four former Forest Service Chiefs, with over 150 years of experience in public lands management, have voiced their support to keep the Roadless Area Conservation Rule in place.”
Today marks the 25th Anniversary of the Roadless Rule that protects millions of acres of our National Forests! It's a success story so not surprising that that the Trump Admin is repealing it. Check out what former Forest Service Chiefs have to say: www.wilderness.org/articles/pre...

Rest in power.
Claudette Colvin, whose 1955 arrest for refusing to give up her seat on a segregated Montgomery, AL bus helped spark the modern civil rights movement, has died at age 86, her foundation announced earlier today.

This is a sensible step for towns under paramilitary occupation.

Keeping kids safe from abduction by ICE-CBP has to be front & center.

Anti-constitutional president.
DOKOUPIL: Is there anything here in the US that limits your power other than your own morality?

TRUMP: It's limited by my morality and I have a very high grade of morality, so therefore it's limited

DOKOUPIL: Not the Constitution or courts?

TRUMP: Well, that goes without saying

This is how you get vigilante parents.

If this shit does not get shut down now, things are going to spiral out of control.
A teenage boy was walking home in Minneapolis yesterday when four masked men jumped out of a van & questioned him - with no parent or guardian present.

He was bundled into the van & taken away.

Bystanders heard the boy say: “Can I just go home?”

I don’t know how America comes back from all this.

ICE-CBP agents are beating up kids & stealing their stuff.

This is not about immigration, it is about skin color.
This is 10th-grader Arnoldo Bazan.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.
