This. Seeing some of Canada's best indies have to go up against (and lose to) Dragon Age in many categories at the last Canadian Game Awards was crushing.
Yes, Dragon Age was also made by Canadians, but it was made by hundreds if not thousands of people unlike say Balatro, Venba, or Lil' Guardsman.

To heal our divided nation I propose splitting Game of the Year awards into two categories:
- Game of the Year That’s 3D and You Use a Sword and/or Gun to Explode a Guy
- Game of the Year That’s Some Gay Bullshit Indie Meditation on Grief or Whatever
- Game of the Year That’s 3D and You Use a Sword and/or Gun to Explode a Guy

Have you seen the ‘girly’ casino app ads on YouTube yet? They are peak ‘we’ve got gendered marketing on lock’.
I got an Instagram ad for a poker app by the company “Poker Powher” that urges you to “DON’T LEAN IN. GO ALL IN.” and I fear we may be girlbossing too close to the sun
