incredible that this is so accurate. dem leadership really needs to quit eating lead paint chips and huffing the fumes coming off the reactionary centrist sharpies.
Okay I think I've mapped out ICE politics as of Monday night

Listening to Mark Carney speak is like being handed a map while realizing how far off course we’ve drifted. Calm. Precise. And deeply uncomfortable for anyone still pretending things are fine.

This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

Another one down. #Cornell. No admission of wrongdoing, yet they caved all the same. Power flexed, and it worked. When academic “independence” collides with political leverage, we see how fragile it really is once the purse strings tighten.

I feel disconnected this holiday season. The usual urge to create, to celebrate... gone. What’s left to celebrate in a nation coming undone?”

Jane Goodall was my first childhood hero, as I loved animals as a kid and was inspired by her story. I still remember the National Geographic specials about her. RIP.

I needed a palate cleanser, so I watched The Birdcage. Its laughter and sharp wit bridged our differences and reminded me of our shared humanity. Robin Williams on screen, it struck me how much of a force he’d be today. I mourn those times when hope for community felt abundant everywhere. I’m sad.

I'm feeling numb today. COVID meds, strange dreams. Last night, I was back in Texas as a child... fire outside the window, hooded and masked men staring in. I screamed and woke up. That #supremecourt decision is sitting heavy.

A voice for peace, stripped of his humanity by the very place he sought for refuge. He came here under our country’s promise. We see this pattern repeat with every targeted group. It left me near tears.

My issues with 🤡 are secondary. He’s just a symptom of his country’s decline. What truly troubles me are those who excuse his vile policies and profit off the harm. They may not like him, but they tolerate it because it hurts those they hate or makes them $. Their judgment will come.

Today marks the third anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

What's happened since?

A record number of women have been prosecuted. Pregnancy loss is now considered extremely suspicious, even when it has nothing to do with abortion.
Criminalizing pregnancy: A record number of women were prosecuted the year after Dobbs
They were targeted for substance use, miscarriages, and stillbirths, largely driven by fetal personhood laws.

The images and videos from the #NoKingsProtest feel powerful and deeply human. People standing up with joy, creativity, and unity. The message? No one is above the people. It's a call for accountability, equality, and rejecting performative power structures that serve the few over the many.

A brilliant and compassionate worker won’t return to her job at a non-profit. Parole revocation pulled the rug out from under her work visa. Her residency claim is now uncertain. This is what it looks like when policy decisions erase people. We lose caregivers. We lose community. We lose our soul.
