New meds are causing the intense dreams. My favorite from last night was visiting a small town to the south of us for a parade and festival. They were all dressed in Halloween costumes. I was surprised but they said they were sick of Christmas and decided to bring Halloween back for a little.

I’ve read a lot of takes on the shutdown cave, but this one is really important
What’s the difference between compromise and capitulation? Compromise trades concessions. Capitulation pays ransom to stop deliberate suffering, and teaches your opponent that coercion works. There are effective responses to coercive bargaining. What we saw was not one of them.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

Also, the HHS Secretary sold cocaine in college and was a heroin addict for 14 years so it is RICH whenever they go after people for old drug offenses.
Even if you don’t care about people who use drugs - you really should care about other people - they will still just lie that you are a person who uses drugs when they want other people not to care about you
After José's arrest sparked outrage in August, DHS attacked him in a press release, calling him a "criminal illegal alien, not a firefighter." DHS has cited a 12-year-old drug delivery charge while failing to acknowledge the charge was dismissed.

This is why I will never help Republicans. They were ok mocking the disabled. This is why I cheer every FAFO MAGA moment. I won’t donate blood, am not an organ donor anymore & I will only donate to Immigrant/Refugee & LGBTQ charities because I don’t want to risk accidentally helping a Trump voter.
the brutal ableism of Trumpism is an underrated part of its ideology by most pundits. Trump mocking a disabled journalist *invigorated* his voters rather than repelling them, because it made them feel that they were safely on the side of the bully, rather than the victim.
Again: what cruelty animates this action; even if it were legal, why would you do something this inhumane?

Exactly this. Especially this in the wake of Mamdani.

Any politician that pivots or pivoted to a campaign of fascism should get the ending to their political career they deserve
i will never vote for Gavin Newsom. i want every other politician to look at how badly Newsom destroyed his own political career by pivoting to fascism & see it as a clear warning that the dignity of marginalized people is not negotiable.

ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.
