oooh, I didn't know anything about it so I just read about the "real story" after seeing it last night.

When she invites him home, my friend was like...isn't she a Christian girl? Premarital sex? (my friend is an ex-Christian)

Please - stop doing the screenshot no link thing on Bluesky. This platform does not punish you for posting a URL. You picked up the habit from Meta apps? Stop doing Mark Z's bidding. Link ESPECIALLY to authors, reporters, bloggers, etc. where you quote the work.

Bummer! I know so many people don't like to do jury duty, but I sort of secretly enjoy it. I've been on a few very short trials, but lately I've been getting dismissed.

I had the hardest time cancelling it a few years ago.

This is very exciting! A small clinical trial using gene therapy for Huntington's disease has been successful. microRNAs were used to edit the Huntington mRNA, stopping it making mutant protein that can damage neurons. Huge hopes now for treating such a devastating condition
Huntington's disease successfully treated for first time
One of the most devastating diseases finally has a treatment that can slow its progression and transform lives, tearful doctors tell BBC.

A picture worth a thousand words.

“None of us have ever done this before. All of this is new, and I just wanted to stand up as American and be seen and make my presence felt.” - 65-year-old Evanston resident Curtis Evans, holding an American flag.

I would love to be part of the conversation on MSNBC related to the Kimmel story and it's chilling effects on first amendment, but unfortunately I was terminated by MSNBC for stating that "hateful thoughts lead to hateful words which lead to hateful actions".

Some wise words from a great writer. Solidarity with people who are endangered, or who are making an effort, is important. Not undermining them on social media is the bare minimum. If you can't live up to that, I'm blocking you. Nobody is here to absorb your futility or exhaustion.

And as with climate, it breaks solidarity with those who are already facing harm. Pretending it's all inevitable and we're powerless gets comfortable/safe people off the hook from acting, showing up, taking risks....

"When the systems meant to protect us recreate the abuse cycle, the betrayal can be as damaging as the abuse. We will not be quiet. We will not give up. And I ask the American public to STAND WITH US." — Epstein survivor Annie Farmer 👏💯

A Black man and a homeless man were found hanging from trees in Mississippi yesterday, for those who haven’t seen yet because it’s barely made it out of local news.
