138 days to Christmas. Just mentioning this so you know to pre-order my next book in plenty of time. I really don't want to ruin things for you and leave you with nothing to read ...

Happy Birthday to this rather lovely wordsmith. You could make his day by adding him to your TBR list...

All my books are on Kobo Plus as well :) I’m a fan of Kobo Plus (I have a subscription) because unlike Kindle Unlimited it doesn’t require exclusivity.

I'm convinced I have the slowest floor tiling guy in the known world working in my kitchen. He keeps refusing cups of tea/coffee(and my game is high in this regard) and won't commit to finishing by Friday. have considered lying about leaving for foreign parts at weekend.

Try asking Alexa 'what's on TV tonight'. It's tremendous. In a bad way.

And if I never hear 'Fernando' again, it won't be any kind of inconvenience.

I'm just going to say it. I can't abide 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. To the extent, I will leave any room/venue when I hear it start. Or have the sort of tantrum that gets it muted. That and 'London's Burning'.

Halloween used to mean carving a swede. Now it’s plastic bats, inflatable ghosts, and neighbours turning their house into a low-rent nightclub. I’ve written about it in my new It’s a Thing series — and yes, my novel Ghosted makes a cameo.

Halloween is 'a thing'
A nostalgic (and slightly baffled) look at how pumpkins and plastic ghosts became part of the calendar.

It says more about our media and the world in general that this RARE good news story feels oddly out of place. Call it a timeline cleanse if you must, but shouldn't be post about and celebrate this more than the less life-affirming shite?

Probably one of the best-argued takes on the current state of the Eurovision Song Contest under current management.

Just finished 'The Institute'. Brilliant TV. Clockwork Orange meets Handmaids Tale meets Stranger Things. Few Stephen King flinch-behind-a-cushion moments. Season 2 confirmed. And nothing to do with any blacklisted Disney/ABC networks. This is MGM. Can recommend.

this exists it is called thinking
Matthew McConaughey says he wants a private LLM, fed only with his books, notes, journals, and aspirations, so he can ask it questions and get answers based solely on that information, without any outside influence.

Bought a plant, washed the floor, made dinner, avoided a neighbour. Wrote too little. Worried too much.

In early December, members of the EBU (not the EBU itself) will discuss this at their General Assembly and decide whether to allow the Israeli broadcaster Kan to participate. If you wish to lobby, you would need to contact the BBC - who have so far said they'll wait for that meeting to happen.

I was doing just fine until I got the Ocado 'nearly time to book your Christmas delivery slot' email, with it's 'be warned, they run out fast' line. Now I'm back to Factor 15. Which is still (sort of) good, this time last week I was on 27.

Failed at making my own pasta, wrote a fair bit, chopped wood - which sounds very artisan, it really wasn't. Got mistaken for someone way more important. Investigated concealer.

Turning a chicken carcass into stock, lacing up new boots, dragging full bins to the pavement, uprooting spent tomato plants and sending them on their way. And writing. Just a little bit today.
