This is likely just normal, after Frontiers sold excellently in 2022.
Since then there's been
• a decent 2.5D game
• Sonic X Shadow Gens (which was 50% an older game)
• a racing spinoff
No doubt when the next new mainline game comes out, sales numbers will rise again

SEGA has revealed that the Sonic the Hedgehog brand franchise sales are currently down year-over-year. They only shifted 1.76m Sonic game sales between October and December 2026. In Super Paper Mario, entering 3D mode during the Brobot battle reveals a synthwave-style vector background. Since it can only be seen during the battle, it is impossible to enjoy it by itself, undisturbed by enemy attacks, without external tools.
