Blanche: It's not a crime to party with Mr. Epstein.

The problem is Republican are so mired in a culture of greed, that his voters will not see what's wrong with taking money no matter the circumstance. Just like they don't get how tax evasion is bad.
Q: The WSJ reported that the royal family of Abu Dhabi invested hundreds of millions into your World Liberty Financial. Can you decide why you decided to take that investment?

TRUMP: Well, I don't know about it. I know that crypto is a big thing and they like it. My family is handling that.

But murdering people is fine.
Homan: "ICE and CBP officers are performing their duties in a challenging environment. They're trying to do it with professionalism. If they don't, it will be dealt with."
January 29, 2026 at 7:22 PM
Somehow this doesn't apply to the people the government pays to be there or to Homan or anyone in the administration.

Republicans always demand that random citizens control their behavior more than law enforcement or Republican government officials.
Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

I'll even share Schumer's posts if it helps him realize this stuff really matters to people and taking a stand is important.
Senate Democrats will not provide the votes to proceed to the appropriations bill if the DHS funding bill is included.

It's important to share posts that get made by politicians like this, because it helps send them a message that this is important and getting traction. Too often their econ posts get the most attention.
Donald Trump and Kristi Noem think you will believe them over your own eyes. No.

Alex Pretti wasn't a terrorist. He was a VA nurse.

When agents pushed a woman to the ground, he tried to help her up. His last words were “Are you okay?”

Enough.

Kristi Noem should resign.

I was always told that one of the central lessons of the Shoah is that legal, juridical regimes can still be immoral. The claim that Anne Frank was in Amsterdam "legally" is false, but more than that, the question "Was Anne Frank an illegal?" is so grossly missing the point of Holocaust remembrance.
To avoid the possibility Holocaust remembrance might lead to empathy for migrants, Trump's antisemitism envoy claims Anne Frank "was in Amsterdam legally."

In reality, Margot Frank received a summons to go to a labor camp on July 5, 1942. After ignoring this call, they were in Amsterdam illegally.

It’s time for the Senate to step up.

Just blatant lies
Q: Between your agency and ICE, we've known seen 2 people shot and killed with 17 days. Do either of you plan to take any accountability?

BOVINO: You're correct. Two suspects have been shot. And suspects that assault or threaten a law enforcement officer's life, it goes back to poor choices.

Amazingly bad metaphor.
Vance on the economy:

"You don't turn the Titanic around overnight"

Absolutely true.

If you count things like Climate Change, we're also burning the world down with us.

Basically no one is going to believe this. They're acting like anything they tell the public will be largely accepted, and that's just not the case.
Jim Banks: "I'm glad Don Bacon is quitting Congress. I'm glad President Trump is showing the type of leadership on the world stage that puts America first, that recognizes that Greenland is strategically very valuable and important and we can't allow it to fall in the hands of our biggest enemies."
January 17, 2026 at 7:06 PM
It's a sign of how they are so stupid that they're sabotaging most support when they believe lies like this will work. All it's doing is turning more people against them.
Tricia McLaughlin: "They are pouring cold water on the ground so that our ICE law enforcement vehicles will slide, crash, and potentially kill them"
January 17, 2026 at 7:02 PM
I think not enough Americans care *enough* about the rest of the world to make anything he does to Greenland and his presidency. His approval rating would probably still be near 50% if he hadn't screwed up the economy and healthcare.
Rep. Bacon on Trump's aggression toward Greenland: "I feel like it's incumbent on folks like me to step up and say these threats and bullying of an ally are wrong. And on the weird chance he's serious about invading Greenland, I want to let him know it will probably be the end of his presidency."

The Trump-Vance administration just used your taxes to pay for an ICE agent to do this to a 21-year-old kid, who was only protesting because another ICE agent killed a mother of three, who was only there because ICE agents are kidnapping your neighbors
January 15, 2026 at 8:23 PM
And I'd note that this still makes it partly about economics because apparently that's the only way to reach anyone in the almost 50% of the county that things ICE shooting random people is fine.
We recently tested ~ a dozen public statements from a diverse set of Democratic elected officials on the murder of Renee Good and this was the top testing one
AOC: I want everybody to understand that the cuts to your health care are what’s paying for this. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face.

Leavitt: Why was she killed?

Reporter: Because an ICE agent acted recklessly and killed her unjustifiably

As an aside, we’ve been witnessing what ICE can do w/ (very roughly) a 50% increase in funding & a strong desire to do it.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what the country will look like when their capacity has been tripled. Bad times are ahead, & it’s incumbent on all of us to do what we can.
One of the most fundamental problems for dealing w/ ICE is the GOP provided years of ICE agent funding in the “Big Beautiful Bill.”

No govt shutdown will end that funding stream, and there aren’t 2/3s votes in each chamber to rescind the funding & override a veto.

Means resistance is what we have.

.@PabloReports: Why do you think it’s so hard for some to just accept that you have always been for abolishing ICE?

AOC: I don’t know, man. People are like, “Oh, you said cut funding, but not abolish”—how do you think you abolish an agency, man? You don’t keep funding it to the tune of billions
January 14, 2026 at 12:39 AM
And the Republicans and people on the right against tyrranical government that ignores rights?

They never actually cared.
A video of ICE agents conducting door-to-door searches today in Minneapolis

The homeowner requests a warrant repeatedly, is told they don't require one, then is told they're getting it, then the agents storm in anyway

They also point a taser at her to try and disrupt filming

I can't say this loudly enough: THEY ARE TRYING TO NORMALIZE THE KILLING OF CIVILIANS FOR PARTICIPATING IN FIRST AMENDMENT PROTECTED PROTEST ACTIVITIES.
Homan: "We gotta stop the hateful rhetoric. Saying this officer is a murderer is dangerous. It's just ridiculous. It's gonna infuriate people more which means there's gonna be more incidents like this."

It's depressing how gutless the press has become since after the first Trump presidency. They weren't even great then and it seems like they decided the problem was having view on honesty, minimum decency, integrity, lawfulness, or anything else.
i think it is great that the press is treating this like it’s just another proposal
