One of the easiest ways to shoot down the idea that "AI" is an expert is to show how it deals with something people know about.

Younger readers may not get this as most appliances come pre-wired, but anyone 35+ can see these are chaotic fire hazards.

From Mastodon, AI asked how to wire a plug:

The whole reason I won’t vote for Labour this May is because I don’t like what Labour is doing, because half of what they’re doing is pandering to reform! Why would I vote for Labour to avoid reform getting in when Labour is also reform

This is also probably my biggest gripe with current politics, both U.K. and USA: if your entire “vote for me” pitch is “so the other side doesn’t get in”… that’s not a winning or useful message! Tell me what you’ll do that’s different. I don’t care what the party name is. I care about the policies.
Lucy Powell has turned off replies/quotes on this post where she tells Zack Polanski to stand down in Gorton & Denton. I think this is tactically disastrous...if the Greens get one more vote than Labour on Feb 26th it'll just invite endless requests for LABOUR to stand down in future (from me).

I want to be super duper clear @gog.com :
If you make me choose between supporting you to aid games preservation or abandoning you to resist generative AI creep, I will commit to never buying a single product through your storefront. I will not trade the potential of tomorrow to preserve yesterday.

A small but very deep thing that bothers me about generative AI as a shortcut to practice and work and skill is the basic assumption that it’s impossible to take pleasure in a creative pursuit that you aren’t very good at and I assure you that is not the case
