Very cool that Congress just renewed ICE's budget with absolutely zero concessions

He could call national guard to protect the people but I suppose that'd lay bare the real power dynamics when they side with the federal fascists.

He likely doesn't want the public to know that, like a toddler helping mommy walk the dog, he ain't the one holding the leash.

better he say nothing.

i do think governments should order cops to arrest ICE.

but it's not because i think the cops will actually do it. nor because i think the cops that do not do so will face consequences, cuz they won't.

but to, as you said, force the issue.

it is actually much, much easier for most local governments to completely abolish their local police department than it is to fire individual officers (and KEEP them fired) or tweak the police contract to be less favorable to the cops.

so i'm talking about how the bubble needs to get popped.

for me, this is not really about strategy or what the 'best' way to do things is.

i just want people to be honest with themselves and with each other about what's necessary in the first place to fix these issues.

we gotta be honest that we can't fix a problem by publicly pretending it's not real.

people'll say "pols don't control the cops" to defend not ordering arrests of ICE. problem is: to begin the process of fixing that, a politician will have to admit to this out loud. you can't fix an issue you pretend isn't there.

so, the only q is: when would be the appropriate time to do this?

It's funny how time has shown that the "call them weird" thing wasn't a bit of effective political strategy that got squashed by establishment dems but quite literally the only thing Walz is capable of in the face of violent fascism.

They're still going for the fucking training shit. Fucking pathetic. Scumbags. All of them.
I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.

The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.

Before y'all start making fun of us Southerners for being "scared of snow/cold" let me break down what these weather events look like:

Right now, it's in the mid-40s, raining, and will be the rest of the day. This is as warm as it gets today, so that standing rainwater won't be evaporating. 🧵

So why not have Subaru fix it, work with the warranty people, and have the purchaser keep it?

Unless they wanna clear the check engine light and sell it to some shmuck with all these issues for a wildly inflated cost?

If they aren't trying to scam someone, they'd be out more money in the long run

This is what is blowing my mind.

The engine trouble you discovered has devalued the car. It's part of the carfax now and now Kelly Blue Book says it's worth quite less than what you paid.

If the dealership takes it back, they're gonna have to fix it to sell it for anything higher.
January 24, 2026 at 1:39 AM
Should I be concerned that the dealership is more interested in taking back the car altogether than taking care of the engine issue?

Like, that's a red flag, right?

Today is the day. Right now hundreds of Minnesota businesses and institutions are shut down. Thousands of people are refusing to work. There’s a massive picket at the airport. Minnesota’s resistance to ICE today is changing the tenor our fight against fascism.
