So why not have Subaru fix it, work with the warranty people, and have the purchaser keep it?
Unless they wanna clear the check engine light and sell it to some shmuck with all these issues for a wildly inflated cost?

This is what is blowing my mind.
The engine trouble you discovered has devalued the car. It's part of the carfax now and now Kelly Blue Book says it's worth quite less than what you paid.
If the dealership takes it back, they're gonna have to fix it to sell it for anything higher.

I went to public school in NY suburbs and we did a whole unit on WWII internment camps in 7th grade. I graduated in 2007. I remember being assigned a Zinn book in HS too.

Mr. Rogers was deeply political. It's just that his politics were rooted in gentle kindness. And people who root their politics in cruelty see that as an entirely milquetoast stance, because they don't understand the concept of gentle kindness as a guiding light. Only hate and aggression.

I don't care about "as-is" used cars. If you don't even get to 30 days and 500 miles and the manufacturer is coming back with repairs that total nearly $3K, that's fucking insane.
