The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.

First-of-a-kind study shows encouraging data for trans kids who socially transition
Ninety-four percent of participants in a new study stood firm in their trans identity after five years, and "detransitioning" is rare.

Seeking references & exploring ideas and possibilities in real things is what makes the best curated boards and references! Quality references will in turn give you better quality results that aren't marred by made up garbled imagery from who-knows-where. It's like eating good food, but for your art
Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things.

Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

the term "content creator" served it's purpose very well. conditioning people into seeing everyone as anyone and everything as anything, mostly among the ruling class who found it most convenient for their pockets. in that sense, generating slop is the final result of content creation
the enthusiasm for generative AI would not have been possible without prior decades of capitalist conditioning to view works of art as products, rather than acts of culture and shared human life
I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.

I have approximate knowledge of many things! And enjoy trying to figure things out together.
Share your knowledge if/when you can. Teaching other people how to do what you do doesn’t lessen your art - it just means more and better art for everyone.

I appreciate when people are willing to tell me about their brushes, how they study, etc… I want to put that back out into the world.

Back to art soon! It's been so quiet on this front recently because I've been busy editing audio. I'm back to drawing on Twitch 5pm PST Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday, but things are pretty chill now that convention season is over for me.

It's an incredibly diverse family, & the fact that each "flower" is hundreds of tiny florets still amazes me.
