Grateful to be mixing a protest song today.

Feel like Asheville won’t be the first city on the trump retribution tour since NC voted for him but I do think ice will show up to terrorize us at some point. We’d better be prepared when it happens.

What if we were to, y’know, abolish ice instead of doing the opposite of that

It's annoying that we already had so many existing problems to solve before these assholes created a bunch of new ones for no reason

Back in town and immediately had two long tracking days in a row.

They were both very productive so I didn’t take any photos, but here’s a clip of to commemorate the first upright bass in the studio

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

My 500 piece puzzle turned out to be a 499 piece puzzle 😕

Do you support abolishing ice or are you in the minority?
Wow — New YouGov / Economist poll:

46% support abolishing ICE
43% oppose abolishing ICE

This is the first time that abolishing ICE has received net positive support

NC, your chance to influence outcomes starts today. Those that have chosen to run, especially non-incumbents, are putting themselves on the line in a very fraught political environment. There are more jobs than just candidate & social media commenter available. Donations not required to participate.
Voting starts Monday in NC, ahead of March primary elections

North Carolina 2026 primary election voters will decide which candidates represent the Democratic and Republican parties in November races for U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, the state legislature and more.

About to drive down to Florida and later Alabama to visit family. I’m sure no one will have any bad opinions about ice murdering citizens or anything like that

But we're going to have a beautiful police state and it'll be very brutal. And you'll be free, perhaps more free than ever before

Realized that most of the music I get to work on consists of either wildly experimental genre benders or protest songs and I’m very happy about this.

Wrapped up drum tracking for a client album yesterday. Some of the wildest and heaviest parts I’ve worked on since @jbrockmusic.bsky.social’s album Cataclysmia.

But it also has a bunch of chill latin grooves? It’s gonna be a trip!

Don’t forget, this is America. The most important thing in this great nation are the feelings of law enforcement. If they feel scared for any reason, they need to be able, above all other laws, to shoot you without a second thought. It’s really our fault for doing something to make them feel scared!

I somehow convinced my band mates to do an A Perfect Circle cover set, now I somehow have to sound like Maynard and/or Billy Howerdel 🙈
We're not exactly what you'd call a cover band, but we are excited to play a bunch of A Perfect Circle songs alongside a stacked lineup for a good cause.

March 29th at Sly Grog Lounge in Asheville — mark your calendars!

Third extended power outage in less than 24 hours, starting to wonder if duke energy is going for some sort of record.

Good thing it isn’t extremely cold and windy outside
