A reminder for those who are not aware: "remigration" is the process of deporting all non-white people from a country. It includes citizens and is, by definition, ethnic cleansing.

And to be clear: this is not fake. I just screenshot it myself.

This administration has a distinct subgroup of members, perhaps even a majority, who are basically the European far right. The vocabulary they use and the ideas/lies underlying it are a dead giveaway.
‘Remigration’ is a term that comes out of the European far right. Its use by the DHS account is a sign of democratic and epistemic collapse

I’m not saying anything particularly smart or new here: A press that runs on sensationalism is just a rolled out red carpet waiting for any fascist weirdo who prints money for “both sides” by saying and doing crazy things all day.
there's no way to explain our politics without the media being overwhelmingly complicit
Now only did White House pool reporters not stick up for their colleague who Trump repeatedly called “stupid” but you can hear them thanking Trump a few minutes later after he ended the Q&A. Sad stuff.

Reuters reached out to everyone that Trump or his subordinates singled out publicly for retribution, and reviewed hundreds of official orders, directives and public records. The result: the most comprehensive accounting yet of his campaign of payback.

Next week the House E&C Committee is looking to run something of a shock and awe campaign, debating at least 19 bills that they say are related to "protecting kids online." Most of which are actually about censorship and control. Don't buy the framing. It's always the same damn thing.

This company designs its products to sycophantic. It knows it is doing this. It knows why it is doing this. The design principles involved are well-known in HCI. OpenAI, quite literally, is a monstrosity.
“OpenAI’s court filing argued that the harms in this case were at least partly caused by Raine’s ‘failure to heed warnings, obtain help, or otherwise exercise reasonable care,’ as well as the ‘failure of others to respond to his obvious signs of distress.’”
OpenAI denies allegations that ChatGPT is to blame for a teenager's suicide
Adam Raine's family sued the AI company in August. On Tuesday, OpenAI said in a new court filing that it isn't responsible for the teen's death.

I was chatting to a collaborator about this only last week. We think you need to have a chat with every collaborator and coauthor at the beginning of a research project about whether or not they use LLMs, how (if so) and to be clear if any words have been prepared by LLM.

Which in turn creates an incentive for people to become those cranks and creates a crank arms race, wherein each crank tries to out-crank the other cranks.
A fun thing about being obliged by charter to present everything as a debate is it literally forces you to go looking for cranks who will defend Trump's inane tyranny

It’s not a free speech question. It’s about an authoritarian calling for his political opposition in an elected branch of government to be prosecuted for opposing him. It’s a constitutional crisis.

Respectfully, what’s the debate?

The president of the United States has called for the trial and execution of members of Congress in a manner that would make Charles I blush.

As a constitutional matter, I fail to see where there is room for reasonable disagreement about what happened yesterday.
President Trump’s recent statements accusing Democratic lawmakers of making “seditious” comments to military and intelligence community members have ignited a free speech debate.

DOJ is now recruiting for immigration judges by calling them “deportation judges.”
