Isn't this pretty much how #BikeHFX got started?

And nobody has ever wanted to befriend someone because "I saw them drive a car once."

I saw a neighbor loading a very small child on the back of their bike this morning and now I want to befriend that neighbor on the basis of "I saw them on a bike once."

We're house-sitting.
Grampy went home today to pick up his hairbrush.
I don't know how to break it to him.
Bird's eye view of a man who is bald on top with short, grey hair on the sides and the back.

Drag Me to Church is only 2 weeks away. If you don't have your tickets yet, what are you waiting for?

Did I mention that we don't have pews? We have comfy seats!

There is no good reason not to come.

It always astonishes me that anyone actually needs to be told this. But there you go.

It's #WorldMentalHealthDay 🌍

#DidYouKnow Healthy ecosystems support healthy minds?

IPBES #NexusAssessment confirms: biodiversity and functioning ecosystems improve mental health. Access to biodiverse environments facilitates recovery from stress, depression & other health-related conditions.🏡🧪
An upward view of a lush forest canopy with tall trees stretching toward the sky. The image shows numerous straight, tall tree trunks with textured bark and vibrant green foliage overhead. The trees appear to be mature hardwoods, creating a dense, natural cathedral-like ceiling of leaves. Text overlaid on the image reads "NATURE HEALS" and "Biodiversity supports mental health" in dark text. A smaller text block from the IPBES Nexus Assessment describes the relationship between nature and health. The IPBES logo appears in the top right corner. The photograph emphasizes the height and density of the forest, with sunlight filtering through the leaves creating a natural green glow throughout the scene.

Wasn't it you that was told last week to buy an electric car?

Seems like people who know nothing about you think they have all the solutions.

These are the work accounts.

Mine are much easier. Sometimes there's money left at the end of the month and sometimes there's month left at the end of the money, but I don't have to explain it to a board of directors, I just have to make sure nothing bounces.

September's bank reconciliation is done.
Please clap.

Now for the credit card.

And that is the problem. We all stop doing things that we enjoy and are good for us because we think we suck.
I'm glad you took it up again. From what I see, you don't suck at it.
msvugraduate.bsky.social
Exactly.
So many people live hand to mouth and to suddenly lose your salary and health benefits could be devastating.
Of course, the billionaires running the place will tell them that responsible people would have at least 6 months' worth of expenses saved for an emergency.

The existence of even one detransitioner supports the assertion that trans people often live in fear and have to pretend they are not trans to feel safe.

Anger is an appropriate reaction to the poor funding and shifty supports offered to people who are struggling because we've screwed them over for generations.
Allow yourself to feel all the feelings and know you are making a difference.

It sounds like such a great adventure, but I'm certain I would fail miserably and the animals would suffer.
I know my strengths and keeping farm animals alive in a Saskatchewan winter is not one of them.

I love that you offer this regularly.
We can all benefit from giving and receiving blessings and peace.
Sending it right back atcha.

Even the trees in the city are spectacular this year.
They turned early, and with no wind, they are staying on the trees.
msvugraduate.bsky.social
Thank you. I wanted some whimsy.
I have a few other ideas, but they will have to wait for next year.

60 year old grandmother is probably not your target audience, but I do need a break from the true crime I've been reading, so the mutant armadillo and a victim impaled on a flagpole will keep the crime while ditching the true.

It is, although I haven't had many opportunities to sit and enjoy it, and by the time we go back home, deck sitting season will be over.

You write books?
I didn't know. Gotta go get one to read.

I forgot to show you the picture of my finished deck.
I probably bought the chair 5 years ago when I had the idea for the deck. It's been in my rec room ever since.
Since there's a conveniently placed branch, I got a pretty bug net.
And my view from the deck. Not bad for a small city lot.
Wicker egg shell chair on a newly built, small wooden deck with black, iron railing.
A pale, rainbow colored but net hangs over the chair.
Beside the chair is a small table with three table tops at varying heights. At the bottom right of the picture is a small section of railing with a solar light on top. The rest of the picture is trees and a small bit of sky. At the bottom, left there is a shed that you might miss at first glance.

I've been confused about a lot of this. Essential services are expected to work but are not getting paid.
Do they get back pay once funding is settled? Do their other benefits continue?
I was thinking of other jobs, like air traffic control. I DGAF if ICE ever gets paid.
