There are a handful of women cubist painters in Museo Reina Sofia and their work is amazing. Not for nothing but there is a good reason "Guernica" has had the impact it does.

I wonder if it is easier when that artist, Picasso or Frank Lloyd Wright for example, is deceased. I don't think anyone has difficulty being moved by and recognizing the importance of Picasso's art while also recognizing that he was a nasty person who abused women.
"actually his stuff was very Derivative and not Original" like, you don't have to do this. it is good for us all to sit with the cognitive dissonance that a very bad person can make very good art. it is good for us to work through the moral ramifications of that.

I think for the most part, foreign govts and heads of state have figured out to ignore the bluster and how to ingratiate themselves to the President at a very low cost.

The thing is you're detaining and arresting US citizens from time to time so yes you should need warrants for that

The fundamental thrust of totalitarianism is that the government dictates terms of how every aspect of every organization, as well as your own life, operates. The Soviet Union, the Nazis, the modern PRC, all have commissars in every org to ensure they follow the government political line.
Breaking news: The Pentagon issued a warning to Scouting America, formerly known as the Boy Scouts, saying the organization risks losing its long-standing partnership with the U.S. military unless it rapidly implements “core value reforms.”
Pentagon warns Scouts to restore ‘core values’ or lose military support
The relationship dates back decades, but Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has criticized the organization for allowing girls to join and changing its name from Boy Scouts.

Not coincidentally, CBP/ICE have been heavily recruiting prison guards, and used their own existing CBP prison guards as shock troops. Prison inmates are barely treated as human—AND essentially have almost no rights. Blueprint for how they're how they're acting towards the public.
I think this is the essential quality that made CBP/BP and ICE so easily convertible into fascist squadristi www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

ICE tear gassed a bunch of children on Saturday. This was a massive escalation of force. They were shooting tear gas at the back of the crowd, it took these unmasked people maybe 3-5 minutes in the cloud of tear gas to escape in without trampling. www.theverge.com/policy/87278...

I can’t stress this enough. The state of 4th Amendment law is that the cops can’t force you to type in a passcode but they can force you to swipe your finger or present your face. Never stop using passcodes/passwords to unlock your devices. And consider additional code to unlock Signal.
The FBI was able to access Washington Post reporter Hannah Natanson's Signal messages because she used Signal on her work laptop. The laptop accepted Touch ID for authentication, meaning the agents were allowed to require her to unlock it. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Congrats Pifzer you spent 10 billion dollars to get... semaglutide 2.0

28 week weight loss in VESPER-3 was 12.3% which is exactly what 2.4mg of semaglutide will get you at 28 weeks. Only innovation here is that it's once monthly which is nice!

Otherwise toss it in the pile of drugs in development

DHS said that the woman CBP shot in the chest in Portland was “involved” in a gang shooting.

Her ~involvement~ was that suspected gang members sexually assaulted and robbed her.
After Border Patrol shot two people in Portland, DHS claimed they were "vicious gang members" tied to a past shooting.

But records I obtained reveal a US prosecutor has since directly contradicted DHS, saying, "We're not suggesting he is a gang member." My dive into how DHS' claims have collapsed:
