Anything Trader Joe's mochi I ABSOLUTELY fuck up in no time flat. I will never wipe out a bag of chips or popcorn in a sitting. Anything mochi? It's rare it survives more than 4 hours after it's opened, let alone 24. I absolutely fucking cannot help myself. The CROMCH

I was told not to teach a class on the intellectual histories of Zionism and Anti-Zionism next year - not because they doubted I could teach it fairly, but because it would attract too many politicians scrutinizing the syllabus.

I also got some small beets, a few green onions, a bunch of other peppers like a handful of Pippins' Golden Honey, Ot Hiem, and an Aleppo I plan to dry alongside the many others outside that are still green and I hope HURRY UP AND GET COLOR BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

I don't like the fall. Lots of stuff dying. The light turning that faded gold that feels like doom to me. Cold weather forcing me to burrow away my tank tops. My garden fading.

But it is a comfort to get a harvest even as things close out. I could've done better, but I've DEFINITELY done worse!

A tabletop with homegrown green Thai chilies, little orange habaneros, a red and green pair of cubanelles, a quintet of anchos, and a quartet of wee little bell peppers.

A tabletop with a plastic quart container overfilled with red and yellow cherry tomatoes, a big handful of pizza thyme, and a quintet of small unhusked tomatillos. (Pat's and bread are not my doing)

A huge pile of greens, including lots of chocolate mint, much peppermint, some spearmint, a few bunches of honeymelon sage, and a few large pineapple basil leaves.

A huge heckin pile of herbs: parsley, Genovese/mammoth/everleaf/Thai basils, pizza thyme to on side, and a honkin chonk of rosemary springs.
